RE-EMPLOYMENT OF NAVAL SSC OFFICERS IN ICG
1.
It is proposed to fill up few existing vacancies in the rank of Comdt(JG) in
Pay Band-3 (Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs. 7600/-) on re-employment basis
from Indian Naval Short Service Commissioned Officers. The eligibility and other
conditions for re-employment are as follows :Eligibility for selection
Comdt(JG) : Pay Band 3 (Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs. 7600/-)
Serving Lt Cdr or Cdr of Indian Navy with a minimum 11 years
commissioned service.
Eligibility for promotion
Comdt(JG) to Comdt (Pay Band 4 + Grade Pay Rs. 8700/-)
On relative merit based selection basis.
Comdt(JG) with 2 years service in the rank (total 15 years
Group 'A' service) with one year sea time in the rank.
Other conditions
(i)
The officer's past service in Navy will be counted for the purpose of
seniority. In the event of there being an intervening period between the
date of release from the Indian Navy and date of re-employment in the
Coast Guard, this period will be deducted for the purpose of reckoning
seniority in the rank.
(ii)
The officers would have an option to get their past naval service
counted for pension as per the provisions of CCS(Pension) Rules, 1972 or
the New Pension Scheme (for post 2004 appointees ) as applicable. In
case of opting to get their past service counted, the officer will be required
to forego the terminal benefits received at the time of release from Navy.
Such option would be required to be given within a year of re-employment.
(iii) The officers will retire on attaining the age of 57 years (as Comdt or
below) or 60 years (as DIG and above) depending upon their career
progression.
(iv) The officer's last pay drawn will be protected while fixing his pay.
However, the benefit of MSP will not be allowed.
2.
Naval (SSC) officers who are desirous/volunteer of seeking re-employment
may forwarded their application to Principal Director(Pers) Coast Guard
Headquarters, National Stadium Complex, New Delhi – 110001 as per the
enclosed proforma alongwith NOC from IHQ(MoD), Navy.
