The following is a checklist of all items necessary for Master Degree candidates to complete the final meeting with the
Thesis Examiner:

One hard copy of your thesis printed single sided (no special paper required). This copy is for review only


One (1) CD copy of the thesis, in PDF. This copy must have your adviser’s signature on the title page.
One (1) Bursar’s receipt indicating payment of $125.00. (This fee includes the cost of binding three copies of the
thesis.) You can make this payment online (http://tinyurl.com/IITThesisFee) and print the receipt.
One (1) Form 501B with signatures of advisor--, all thesis readers (committee members), and department chairman.



One (1) abstract of 350 words or less, in UMI Dissertation Publishing Abstract format. Must be on cotton paper. An
example of this format is on the next page.
Enclose a copy of the CD in an envelope and labeled with the following information:
Name
Thesis Title
Degree and Field
Date of Graduation (July, December, or May and Year)
NOTE: A CD case or sleeve is not an envelope. It is acceptable to put your CD in an a CD case or sleeve, but you
must use an envelope.
During this meeting, you will receive detailed information about the online submission process, which includes the URL for
where to post. However, only the Thesis Examiner can provide the final approval for online submission. If you post your
thesis without receiving approval from the Thesis Examiner, your document will be deleted from the queue. During the
online submission, when given the Copyright option, Master Degree Candidates must select “No.” Checking “Yes” will
delay thesis approval, reimbursement of the copyright fee, and possibly your graduation status.
