Texas A & M University Fact Sheet 2009-2010 Profile: Texas A&M University located in College Station, Texas was founded in 1876 as Texas' first public institution of higher learning and has grown to a bustling 5,200-acre campus with 48,000-plus students and a nationally recognized faculty. Texas A&M University is one of a select few universities with land-grant, sea-grant and spacegrant designations. The student body is made up of about 50% men and 50% women and 8,500 are graduate students. Texas A&M operates branch campuses in Galveston and San Antonio, Texas, and Qatar and well as centers in Mexico City and Costa Rica. This research-intensive flagship university with 10 colleges and a comprehensive Health Science Center consistently ranks among the top public universities for academics and value. Many degree programs are ranked among the top 10 in the country. Approximately 90 percent of the 2,800 faculty members hold doctoral degree; more than 300 hold endowed professorships or chairs. Please follow these directions to create an online account and to complete the exchange application. Exchange students must provide Texas A&M University paper copies of the completed application and related documents with original signatures. Completed paper copies should be submitted to the exchange program coordinator at the student’s home university. The exchange program coordinator at the student’s home university will forward the student’s completed application packet to the appropriate office at Texas A&M University.
