1. Anticodon- Three letter sequence on a tRNA molecule
2. Codon- Three letter sequence on a mRNA molecule
3. One- The number of strands in RNA
4. Two- The number of strands in DNA
5. Ribose- Sugar present in RNA
6. Deoxyribose- Sugar found in DNA
7. Double helix- Shape of DNA
8. Transfer RNA- RNA that transfers (or carries) amino acids to the ribosome
9. Messenger RNA- RNA that serves as a copy of the DNA template strand
10. Ribosome- Protein-making factory of the cell
11. Translation- Process of using RNA to make proteins
12. Transcription- Process of using DNA to create RNA
13. Replication- Process of copying DNA
14. Sugar- Pentagon shape found along the backbone of DNA
15. Phosphate- One of three parts to a nucleotide; forms the backbone of DNA along with the sugar
16. Nitrogen base- One of three parts of a nucleotide; in DNA, it can either be A, T, C, or G
17. Adenine- Nitrogen base that pairs with “T”
18. Guanine- Nitrogen base that pairs with “G”
19. Cytosine- Nitrogen base that pairs with “C”
20. Uracil- Nitrogen base only found in RNA
21. Thymine- Nitrogen base only found in DNA
22. Nucleus AND cytoplasm- Location of RNA
23. Nucleus only- Location of DNA
24. Semiconservative- Each “new” DNA molecule has one original strand and one newly-synthesized strand
25. Amino acids- Building blocks of proteins
