University of Phoenix Career Coaching Program - FAQs All appointments take place via phone and students can reserve a time that works best for them and their Career Coach. The Career Coaches are available for evening and weekend appointments. Why should the student spend time with a Career Coach? Speaking with a Career Coach is a great way for students to get feedback on their career exploration or job search process. Career Coaches can address questions such as “I am really frustrated with my current job-search and overwhelmed with the process, what should I do?” “Why is it important to network and how will it help me professionally?” “What questions should I ask in an interview?” A Career Coach can help students answer these questions and develop strategies and action plans to implement and meet their goals. Career Coaches are National Certified Counselors and specially trained to help students maintain persistence and focus as they sort through the sometimes overwhelming number of job seeking resources. In a user-friendly manner, the Career Coach will empower and motivate the student to stay positive throughout the process. How is this different from what the student already gets from the Life Resource Center? There are two main differences: 1. First, this is a Career Coaching program for students within nine credits of degree completion. This means only a portion of University of Phoenix students have been granted access to the Career Coaching program for a limited time. The LRC is a resource that is available to all students for the remainder of their time as a part of the UOPX community. 2. Second, the LRC provides students with many of the tools they need to manage all facets of their life; personal, financial, and career. However, the University of Phoenix Career Coaching program, on the other hand, is focused specifically on preparing students for their career planning and job search process by giving them access to a career coach that can help them achieve their career objectives and stand out in today’s job market. What is University of Phoenix Career Coaching? University of Phoenix acquired Ready and Motivated Minds, L.L.C., a distance career-coaching service company doing business as ReadyMinds on January, 9, 2012. What if my student has additional questions?
