Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) has been
providing quality technical education programs and
meeting the demands of the region’s workforce for
over 50 years. As a unit of the Technical College
System of Georgia, CGTC offers nearly 200 associate
degree, diploma, and certificate options to over
12,000 students annually. CGTC’s service area
includes Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Dooly, Houston,
Jones, Monroe, Peach, Pulaski, Putnam, and Twiggs
counties in Georgia. However, the College serves
students from all over the state, nation, and world
through traditional on-site and distance education
academic program, study abroad opportunities,
adult education programs, continuing education, and
customized business and industry services.

is a result of the administrative consolidation of CGTC’s highly-skilled and caring instructors and

continuing education, and customized business
and industry training, the College plays a vital

Founded in 1938 in Fresno, California, the purpose of the National Junior
College Athletic Association (NJCAA) is to promote and foster junior college
athletics on intersectional and national levels so that results will be consistent
with the total educational program of its members.
The NJCAA sanctions the following sports: Baseball (M), Basketball (M/W),
Bowling (M/W), Cross Country (M/W), Football (M), Golf (M/W), Half Marathon
(M/W), Ice Hockey (M), Indoor Track and Field (M/W), Lacrosse (M/W),
Outdoor Track and Field (M/W), Soccer (M/W), Softball (W), Swimming and
Diving (M/W), Tennis (M/W), Wrestling (M), and Volleyball (W).
Members eligible to join the NJCAA consist of two year colleges and institutions accredited by the appropriate
state and/or regional accrediting agency.
The NJCAA has nationwide exposure and support with several national organizations--the United States Olympic
Committee, American Association of Community and Junior Colleges, Women’s Sports Foundation, USA Basketball,
Track/Field, and Swimming.

ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) is a collegiate athletic
conference and is a member of the National Junior College Athletic
Association (NJCAA) / Region XVII. The GCAA’s 17members are comprised of
four year colleges, two year community colleges and technical colleges. GCAA
members compete in 16 sports for both men and women.
The GCAA’s mission is to promote the education and development of college students, especially junior college
students, through intercollegiate athletic competition. GCAA’s members share the common commitment to high
standards and the principle that competitive athletic activities are an important part of education. GCAA and its
members believe that student growth and excellence may be achieved through athletic competition because it
promotes the qualities of hard work, physical fitness, team play, good sportsmanship, self-discipline and high moral
standards.

TITANS ARENA | MACON, GA
Formerly known as The Historic
Ballard-Hudson School, Titans
Arena opened in fall 2013 and is
home to the CGTC Titans men’s
and women’s basketball teams.
In addition to hosting the Titans’ home
basketball games, Titans Arena includes
several classrooms that are used by
the CGTC Adult Education division.
In 2016, the facility will also be
home to the William S. Hutchings
College & Career Academy.
The Titans Wellness center is located
on the CGTC Macon campus and is
open to all CGTC student-athletes,
students, and employees.

Named in honor of former Georgia
legislator Lawrence C. “Larry” Walker, Jr. in
January 2015, the facility originally opened
in fall 2012.
The Walker Building is also home to
the CGTC Titans men’s and women’s
basketball games. In addition to
housing Larry Walker Arena, the Walker
Building hosts Criminal Justice and
General Education courses.
The building includes a well-equipped
fitness center and workout room open to
all CGTC student-athletes, students, and
employees.

Dr. Bruce Foster was
named the Executive
Director of Campus
Life for Central Georgia
Technical College in
November 2012. In
this position, he is
responsible for all
aspects of campus
activities, including student organizations and clubs
and intercollegiate sports.
Prior to this appointment, Foster worked as the
Director of Student Support Services managing the
CARE Center, the Testing Center, as well as special
populations services and campus life. In this position,
he was instrumental in starting the Athletics program
for the former Middle Georgia Technical College.
MGTC’s Titans and Lady Titans basketball teams
first competed at the club level and then moved to
the Technical College System of Georgia Athletic
Association. In 2010, the Titans joined the Georgia
Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) and the National
Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as a
Division III team.
Dr. Foster received a Bachelor of Science degree
in Liberal Studies from Mercer University and his
master’s degree in Education from Columbus State
University. In 2011, he earned his Doctorate in
Education from Nova Southeastern University. He is
married to Jacqueline Evette Foster and they have
three children, Breanna, Brudarius, and Bruce, Jr.

Bradley was given the

the ground up. Under
his leadership the men’s and women’s basketball
programs began their inaugural seasons in his first
year at the helm. CGTC brought its total sports to four

during the 2013 season.
Bradley is responsible for all aspects of leading the
athletic program. He is a member of the National
Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics
(NACDA), the National Alliance of Two Year Collegiate
Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA), and also serves as
the standards and ethics chair and cross country chair
for the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA).
Bradley began his coaching career at Lander University
in 2003 and was a member of the women’s basketball
staff for two seasons. He continued coaching on the
collegiate level as an assistant on the women’s staff at
Columbus State University during the 2006-07 season.
Bradley also coached at the high school level leading
the LaGrange Academy girls program from 2007-2010.
He amassed an overall record of 63-21 during his
tenure at LaGrange.
Bradley received a Bachelor of Science degree
in History from Lander University and a master’s
degree in Public Administration from Columbus State
University. A native of Sumter, SC, he is married
to Melanie Warnock, and they have one daughter,
Emmeline.

Rachel Henry, Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach
Rachel Henry enters

coaching at Fort Valley
State University.
Coach Henry is a former women’s collegiate basketball
player, having played at Darton College in Albany and
West Virginia University Institute of Technology at West
Virginia. While at WVU Tech, Henry helped the Lady
Golden Bears win their first Mid-South Conference
championship in 17 years.
In 2008, Coach Henry earned her first assistant
coaching position at the former Middle Georgia
College under Coach Anderson Ligon. During that year,
Middle Georgia College won the Georgia Junior College
Athletic Association (GJCAA) Championship and the
District J Championship.
In 2011, Henry became the assistant coach for the
Bleckley County Middle School girls’ basketball team.
In 2013, she was instrumental in guiding the team
to win the Middle Georgia Middle School Athletic
Association (MGMSAA) Region Championship for the
first time in 40 years.
Coach Henry graduated from West Virginia University
with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with
an emphasis in Athletic Coaching Education. She also
earned a Master of Arts in Teaching in Kinesiology
from Georgia College and State University. Coach
Henry currently resides in Macon.

Reco Dawson, Men’s Basketball Head Coach
Reco Dawson enters
his fourth season at
the helm of the Titans
men’s basketball
program, and his
12th year of coaching
basketball at the
collegiate level. In his
career, Dawson has
coached 18 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association
(GCAA) First and Second Team All-Conference players,
one GCAA Player of the Year, two National Junior
College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Americans,
one NJCAA All-Tournament player, one GCAA Defensive
Player of the Year, two Georgia Basketball Coaches
Association (GABCA) selections, and one GABCA
Newcomer of the Year.
Coach Dawson led the Titans to their first GCAA playoff
appearance during the 2012-13 season, and their
first GCAA playoff win in 2014. In his second season
as head coach, Dawson guided the Titans to a second
place finish in the conference championship, which
earned them a zone qualifying bid the NJCAA National
Tournament.
Dawson is a graduate of Georgia Southwestern
State University, earning both a bachelor’s degree in
Education and a Master of Business Administration.
He is married to Jennifer Dawson, and they have two
sons, Brandon and Jalen. Coach Dawson and his
family reside in Warner Robins.
Byron Mincey, Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach
Byron Mincey was
named the assistant
coach for men’s
basketball in September
2015.
Mincey joins Central
Georgia Technical
College after spending
four years with the men’s basketball program at the
College of Coastal Georgia (CCG).
Coach Mincey’s career at CCG began as a student
manager prior to his transition to the role of student
assistant coach. During his tenure, Mincey was
responsible for multiple facets of the men’s basketball
program including sports information, basketball
operations, equipment management, and team
scouting.
Under former Head Coach Gerald Cox and current
Coach Jesse Watkins, Mincey helped coach two 1,000
point scorers in Kentorey Johnson and Reggie Burke.
A graduate of the College of Coastal Georgia, Mincey
holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs with a
concentration in Public Management. Coach Mincey
currently resides in Macon.
Regina Elders, Cheer Team Coordinator
Regina Elders is in
her fourth season
as cheer coach for
CGTC. She, along with
three other coaches,
was instrumental in
the formation of the
inaugural cheerleading
squad in 2012 to support
CGTC’s basketball program. In addition to serving as
cheer coach, she is a Campus Life specialist and an
adviser for the Central Georgia Technical College Student
Government Association.
Elders is a graduate of Central Georgia Technical
College and also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in
Organizational Leadership from Mercer University. She
currently resides in Macon.
Melissa Williams, Dance Team Coordinator

she also serves as an
English instructor for the
College. Additionally, she works in the community as
the auxiliary coordinator for the Central High School
“Sugarbear” Marching Band.
Williams holds a Bachelor of Arts in Speech
and Theatre with a concentration in Speech
Communications from Albany State University. She
also has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Armstrong
Atlantic State University. Williams resides in Macon.

worked in private
industry for over 20
years.
