Sample of Test Answer What can you infer(推断) about Frankenstein’s character from his close personal relationships? His scientific project? In your opinion, is he an appealing person? Brainstorming: 1. Victor between Elizabeth (Close, moderate affection, they are together periodically) Victor between Henry (Henry is Victor’s moral compass, he’s more concerned with the consequences/outcomes of decisions, mutual level of knowledge, Henry, unlike Victor stays on the ‘safe side’ of decisions.) Victor between Family Members 2. When working on his monster he seems to be in a different world/acts differently. He is rash (he acts quickly) and does not think about the consequences of his actions. He only thinks about the outcome later( fame, riches, being known) 3. Appealing Has a lot knowledge Has a lot of experience Attitude for exploring He is creative Has passion for his career Ambitious 6pts per question 2 pts thinking 4pts communication 2pts Application 14pts Not appealing Selfish Childish (do things without considering the results) Created a monster(did not use knowledge for good) He is disrespectful of the dead (digs bodies up for project) Not a friendly person to others When dealing with the character of Victor Frankenstein one cannot help but think that he is a very selfish person. When taking a look at both his personal and scientific relationships it is very clear to me that he is not an appealing person. When you take a look at the relationship between him and Elizabeth for an example he loves her but at the same time he keeps his distance from her. In a romantic relationship this is something that I would not want from a partner. When looking at his scientific project he is only concerned with his outcome not the consequences of it. This makes him a very difficult person to like, this is why I think that Victor is someone that invokes no sense of appeal from me.
