Postdoctoral Scholar Positions
Program in Public Health
and Dept. of Population Health and Disease Prevention
University of California, Irvine
Four postdoctoral scholar positions are available immediately to study the
epidemiology of malaria and population ecology of malaria mosquitoes and
malaria parasites in Southeast Asia (China, Myanmar and Thailand) and
Africa (Kenya). Areas of particular interests are: 1) malaria epidemiology
(ecological and clinical epidemiology), 2) population and community
ecology of malaria vectors, and 3) molecular population genetics of
mosquitoes or malaria parasites. The positions will involve considerable
field work in Southeast Asia or Africa. The candidates must hold a Ph.D.
degree and possess a good publication record. Candidate for the first position
should have a strong background in one of the following areas: epidemiology,
ecology and statistics. Prior experience on mosquitoes or malaria parasites is
not required.
