Transportation options to The Gardens Victoria's arrival points include the Inner Harbour and the Town of Sidney and both are approximately 20 minutes from The Butchart Gardens. At the Victoria International Airport (YYJ) there are daily flights from Vancouver International Airport and Seattle-Tacoma Airport, as well as flights from the rest of Canada and the United States. For an alternative, visitors can also utilize regular float plane and helicopter service to Victoria's downtown Inner Harbour, and then take one of the many bus services to The Gardens. The Butchart Gardens is also easily accessed by boat (under 20’) or chartered float planes at our private wharf. Company cheques by prior arrangement only. Operating Hours The Gardens open every day of the year at 9am, except Christmas Day when we open at 1pm. Visitors are welcome to remain until one hour after the Admission Gates close. Closing times vary according to season. During July and August we may experience heavy traffic between 11am and 3pm. For those with a flexible itinerary, we suggest a late afternoon arrival. Visitors can enjoy The Gardens by daylight, stop for food and refreshments, then take in our musical entertainment, as well as see the magic cast upon The Gardens by the Night Illuminations.
