They are an important

the app provides a comprehensive source for
users to look up definitions, play word games,
translate words, and more.

VP Business Development, Farlex
Farlex monetizes The Free Dictionary app with
banner ads and was looking to add an
additional partner to help increase revenue.
Drawn to the impression-by-impression
efficiency of Real-Time Bidded (RTB)
technology and Flurry’s unique data-driven
approach, Farlex decided to partner with
Flurry Marketplace.
They began by implementing the Flurry SDK
in their iOS app. The integration proved
seamless, and advertisers began bidding on
The Free Dictionary’s inventory within days.
Flurry’s Publisher Relations team guided
Farlex through the process and provided
consultative advice on how to maximize
performance.
Farlex quickly saw results. The Free Dictionary
app increased its banner impressions by 67%
and revenue by 26%. The unique data
provided to bidding advertisers about each
Farlex impression – including age, gender, and
persona - resulted in very high fill rates and
strong eCPMs. The quality of advertisers in
Flurry Marketplace was also strong, which
alleviated initial concerns about the user
experience.
Convinced by this performance, Farlex is in
the process of implementing Flurry in The
Free Dictionary app for Android. Flurry is now
an integral partner in Farlex’s overall app
monetization strategy.
