another Quebec college before May 1st, 2010.
2. Applications will be dealt with on a first come first served basis as space is
limited in this program.
3. An incomplete application will not be evaluated and does not hold a place
in the program.

REAL ESTATE BROKER
A.E.C. 902.57
Program Objectives:
The program provides the training required to complete the tasks related to the
functioning of a Real Estate brokerage office as required under the Real Estate
brokerage law (L.R.Q. c. C-73.1). The program also provides the student with
the necessary training to write the A.C.A.I.Q. Broker exam and receive their
certificate as a chartered Real Estate Broker.
Program Content:
The program consists of five credit courses for a total of 255 hours. Upon the
successful completion of all five courses the student is awarded an ‘Attestation
d’études collégiales’.
Admission Criteria:
Candidates must:

Have a Secondary V diploma (Quebec Diploma of Secondary Studies or
equivalent scholarity) OR have instruction deemed acceptable by the College
AND
•
Currently hold an affiliated Real Estate Agent certificate for at least two of the
five years preceding the date of application to the program
OR
Have carried on an occupation related to real estate or brokerage
transactions for at least three of the five years preceding the date of their
application for a certificate. (A letter from the ACAIQ stating that they
recognize your experience is required)
Career Perspectives:
Upon successful completion of the attestation program, and holding an affiliated
Real Estate certificate for at least three years, the student is now eligible to write
the Chartered Real Estate Broker certification examination with the Quebec Real
Estate Association (A.C.A.I.Q.). Contact the A.C.A.I.Q. for further details or

Schedule:
Classes will take place over a one year period and are offered once or
twice per week (Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. or/and Thursday
or/and Friday between 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (with a one-hour lunch). All
classes take place at John Abbott College. See schedule on last page.
Cost:
The cost for the total program is $1,630.00 and includes tuition,
registration, and student fees. A $30.00 application fee will also apply.
Textbooks and other materials are not included. There is also a fee
for parking on campus.
Payment schedule:
The courses will be scheduled over three sessions and payment will be on a
course by course basis. The cost for a 45-hour course is $290.00 and a 60-hour
course $380.00.

1. Ensure that you fulfill the A.E.C. Program Admission and Quebec residency
requirements.
2. Complete the attached John Abbott College ‘Request for Admission’ form.
3. Attach the following documents to the ‘Request for Admission’ form:

CREDIT PROGRAMS - ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Attestation of Collegial Studies (A.E.C.) Programs
A.E.C. programs are specifically designed for adult students seeking official recognition of their studies.
Applicants are eligible to register in an A.E.C. program under the following conditions:
• Have a Québec Secondary V Diploma and have interrupted their studies for at least two (2) consecutive
semesters or one (1) school year
• OR have instruction deemed acceptable by the College
• OR be covered by an agreement between the College and an employer or a government program
• OR have completed at least one (1) year of post-secondary studies spread over one (1) year or more
• AND be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident or the holder of a valid Student Visa and provide
photocopied proof of eligibility

CONFIRMATION OF QUÉBEC RESIDENT STATUS
To establish or confirm Québec Resident Status, please find a summary of the most common
situations that may apply to you, and to the type of documents that you will be asked to
submit. You must provide the required documents to the Registrar’s Office prior to the first
day of class or be subject to additional fees.
In addition to documents confirming Québec Residency Status, all students born outside of
Canada must submit proof of Canadian Citizenship (Canadian Citizenship Card) or Permanent
Residency papers (IMM 1000 or IMM 5292), or Permanent Residency Card.
