Campari and Fiege Connect Logistically
Contract signed in Switzerland
Oftringen/Switzerland, July 13, 2011 – One of the core industries of
the Fiege Group in Germany, logistics for spirits, has now been
reinforced in Switzerland: Fiege Logistik (Switzerland) AG, a whollyowned subsidiary, will assume international sea freight imports,
warehouse logistics, the national distribution as well as parts of event
logistics for the a new client, Campari Schweiz AG.
Gruppo Campari produces spirits and sparkling wines and distributes
these into 190 countries. The comprehensive product portfolio includes
over 40 brands, divided into three segments: spirits, wine and soft drinks.
In addition to brands such as Campari Bitter or Campari Soda, there are
other world-renowned brands such as Skyy Vodka, Aperol, Cinzano and
Cynar.
Fiege has been handling almost the entire range of supply chain services
at the Oftringen facility since early February 2011: from customs
clearance to warehouse logistics and national distribution, to so-called
re-works, or value added services.
Operational business includes the storage of around 100 different articles
– merchandise stored on a total 1,000 pallet spaces - as well as the
Switzerland-wide distribution with Fiege's own vehicles for national
distribution to on- and off-trade customers of Campari Schweiz AG.
Important elements of the co-operation include also additional services
such as assembling sales displays and labelling orders for Campari's key
accounts.
With Campari the Fiege Group managed to make the perfect entry in
Switzerland into the new business field of event logistics. In order to
offer an optimal degree of service Fiege has provided a Web portal for
Campari to organise events and to track event furniture. "The relocation
to the current facility in Oftringen as well as the start of the new business
operations all ran smoothly", explains Thomas Knopf, CEO Switzerland
