productivity. The integration of mobile solutions is no easy task:
which devices, operating systems and releases are suitable?
How can mobile applications be implemented, operated and
administered simply and reliably? As part of Mobile Enterprise
Services (MES), T-Systems provides managed services, connectivity for mobile devices – both smartphones and tablets – and
mobile applications (apps). Customers access standardized
services from T-Systems via the cloud. And you have the choice of
administrating the solution yourself via T-Systems’ SaaS model,
or having T-Systems do it in its highly-secure private cloud.
Applications such as SAP CRM are mobilized for iPhones, iPads
and Blackberries, and connected to backend systems. This means
that MES enables you to seamlessly integrate new mobile business
processes – while protecting sensitive company data.
Working securely and productively while on the move – thanks to centrallymanaged mobility solutions.
Each of the four offering elements addresses specific customer requirements.
Mobile Device Management (MoDM) is an Internet-based standardized solution that provides support to customers wishing to manage their mobile
device fleets in-house. There is a choice of three packages of varying scope.
Mobile Workplace Services (MoWS) comprise solutions fully managed by
T-Systems and tailored to customers’ specific needs. If managing mobile
devices in-house becomes too complex, or you require additional functionality
to support your business processes, you can migrate from Mobile Device
Management to Mobile Workplace Services.
Mobile Applications (MoApps) comprises the development and mobilization
of SAP and non-SAP enterprise applications. The offering is completed by
scalable security solutions, with SiMKo addressing the highest security
requirements.
Whatever your requirements, you benefit from T-Systems’ extensive expertise
in developing, implementing and operating solutions of this sort. And you can
choose any modular component or the fully managed service – end to end.

mobile devices is based on the number of devices and the MoDM package.
There are no licensing costs, and you do not need to invest in the necessary
hardware.
Added value for your organization.

Professional management of mobile devices via a turnkey, scalable
platform
‚‚
Greater visibility and easier administration
‚‚
Standardization of software and releases
‚‚
Switching packages and increasing or decreasing the number of
administrated mobile devices is quick and easy
‚‚
Upgrading to the functionality-rich Mobile Workplace Services managed
service with customer-specific features is possible
2. Mobile Workplace Services (MoWS).
Mobile Workplace Services are T-Systems’ solutions for managing mobile
device fleets and the apps that run on them. The solutions are centrally managed via networks. In contrast to the standard solutions (with self-service)
offered as part of Mobile Device Management, Mobile Workplace Services
are customized to the needs of your organization. The solutions support the
following devices and operating systems: Windows Mobile, BlackBerry,
Apple iPhone/iPad, Android, and Symbian.
Operating model.
This is a managed service, and T-Systems manages the mobile devices
and the platform from our site. We implement the services in accordance
with the customer’s unique requirements.

1. Mobile Device Management
(MoDM).
Companies have a choice of three packages of varying scope:

Description of service
Mobile Device Management is based on a highly standardized platform
accessible via a Web portal. This provides a convenient way to administrate
your mobile device fleet yourself (“self-service”). You can install software,
change password settings, and manage the inventory on hardware and
software, as long as these features are supported by your mobile device
software. The solution packages are device, vendor, and network operator
independent. Support is provided for the following operating systems:
Windows Mobile, Symbian, Apple iPhone and iPad, and Android. MoDM’s
user interface is available in German and English. Please note that the availability of certain device management features depends on the end device
and mobile operating system.

‚‚
Mobile Device Management: In addition to the predefined packages
described under MoDM, a wide range of other options are available,
allowing you to create a custom solution, e.g. profile management with
user-specific profiles.
‚‚
Mobile Email: Standard scope: either using the email client of the
device’s operating system, or installation and configuration of a customerspecific email client, or using an existing client licensed by the customer.
‚‚
Extensions: Mobile Certification Service (certification of apps and mobile
devices for inclusion in the managed service), integration with Microsoft
SharePoint and Office Communications Server, additional security through
Mobile VPN solutions.
Savings.
In light of the huge and growing variety of mobile devices, operating systems
and applications, substantial effort and specialist knowledge are required to
provide all related services, from roll-outs to ongoing operations management.
Doing all this in-house would entail high levels of investment and risk. But you
can eliminate both by choosing T-Systems’ comprehensive MoWS service.
This offering comes with transparent, predictable monthly pricing and is based
on our broad skill set and professional tools.
Added value for your organization.
‚‚
Device management is tailored to your specific needs
‚‚
A company-specific app store (vetted apps) ensures that the iPhone/iPad

‚‚

‚‚
Automation and outsourcing maximize your savings potential
‚‚

business processes. T-Systems employs a mobile middleware platform that
enables it to offer the widest possible choice of mobile devices and integrated
applications. T-Systems operates the platform from a central point, and
enables both SAP and non-SAP applications to be integrated. The solutions
support the following devices and operating systems: Windows Mobile,
BlackBerry, Apple iPhone/iPad, Android and Symbian.
