THE DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (http://www.eng.fsu.edu/me) at the Florida State and Florida A&M Universities’ College of Engineering (jointly administered by both) in conjunction with the Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS) of Florida State University, invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in thermal science. Areas of interest include but are not limited to: energy efficient buildings, thermal management of power electronics and power systems, applied superconductivity/applied cryogenics, and energy harvesting. The opening is at the Assistant Professor level although exceptional candidates will be considered for higher level appointments. The position is a tenure track academic faculty line within the Florida State University. A Ph.D. in engineering or related field is required; applications from minorities and women are strongly encouraged. The successful candidate will be expected to teach mechanical engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and conduct high quality sponsored research.
