America’s Team Unites
A S S O C I A T E S ,
U.S. Security Associates, Inc., the fourth largest private security company in the U.S., rallied
contribution efforts to aid the victims of the April 2011 tornadoes that created horrific tragedy
across the central and southern United States.
The Company called upon all associates to participate in a financial relief drive to aid USA
teammates that were suffering significant hardships as a result of the tornadoes. Moreover,
the Company devoted to match 100% of what was contributed.
“Many of our officers suffered catastrophic loss from the storms, both in loss and damage of
property. Some had family members and/or friends perish. We view these officers as member of our extended family, and a drive was started from our corporate office to take collections to provide financial assistance.” said U.S. Security Associates William Gensler,
Vice President, Georgia/Alabama Operations. “Donations came in from all around the country. Funds raised from the field were matched dollar for dollar from corporate.”
We all hope our contributions played a part, in some small way, in helping these individuals
begin to rebuild from their losses. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those that suffered
untold losses through this tragedy. All of U.S. Security Associates continue to wish our employees impacted by this tragedy a quick and speedy return in their rebuilding efforts.

Training Put to the Test!
U.S. Security Associates, Inc (USA) is proud of our reputation within the industry for a variety of
reasons, including client satisfaction, use of technology, and officer performance—to name a few!
I think many of us will agree that what really begins to separate us from the “rest of the pack” is our
emphasis on training. Beginning with the initial Security Officer Basic Training and continuing on to
site-specific requirements, USA never compromises the quality or consistency of the knowledge &
training we offer to our officers. The real challenge for our officers beyond the classroom is in how
each of them applies their knowledge & training to the security services provided to our customers.
On March 4, 2011, USA Security Officer Victor Rojano‟s training was put to the ultimate test! While
serving as a commissioned security officer at the San Antonio Water System‟s Las Palmas Payment Center, a frantic customer approached him cradling a toddler in her arms while crying out, “My
grandson is not breathing! Please help!” Officer Rojano immediately took the young boy to assess
his condition. It was evident that the toddler was not breathing, so Officer Rojano initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) while waiting for emergency medical services (EMS) to arrive. Officer Rojano successfully revived the toddler through his CPR efforts and was able to brief EMS so
that they could continue medical care. The toddler was released later that day from the hospital!
When asked to describe the events that took place, Officer Rojano simply stated, “I was just doing
my job!” For those that have had the opportunity to meet him, I am sure you will agree that he is
proud of his profession, but never wants to be recognized for the work he does. We all knew his actions could not go unnoticed.
On April 5, 2011, Officer Rojano was formally recognized by USA leaders, Robert Russell & Mike
Books for his heroic actions. Officer Rojano received the coveted life-saving medal & a cash award
as a token of USA‟s appreciation for his actions. In addition to this, Officer Rojano received a Certificate of Recognition from the San Antonio Water System during their monthly board meeting. The
event was televised on local television as well. USA certainly has another reason to be proud of our
team!
Are you ready to put your training to the test?

ExxonMobil GREF JSA of the Quarter Award
Once again USA ExxonMobil GREF has won the JSA of the Quarter Award. A Job Safety Analysis
form is required by ExxonMobil for every job task before the job can begin. This form requires detailed information on the task to be completed, the steps to be taken in order to do the job safely and
the personal protective equipment needed while performing the job. ExxonMobil‟s Safety Culture is
such that failing to comply with safety regulations is cause for a contractor and or contract company
to be immediately and permanently barred from ExxonMobil property.
USA is competing against numerous other GREF Contract Companies for this award. Thanks to
Captain Maria Gonzales and Security Officer Telethea Ross, this is the second consecutive JSA of
the Quarter Award USA has won and it clearly establishes USA as a leader in safety.
Attributing to our success is Lisa Blake, our North Houston Site Manager, who oversees the officers
responsible for winning both of our JSA of the Quarter Awards. Her leadership is reflected through
her supervisors continued dedication to safety. Lisa takes safety very serious and personally responds when we have a safety incident. I am proud to have her on our Team! These associates are
shining examples of what USA brings to the table.

I am writing to commend
one of your employees,
Sharon Austin, who has
worked at gate #39 at the
Sun N Fun fly in for the
past two years.
As someone who has
been attending SNF as
an exhibitor for many
years, I think I am in a
position to recognize
when someone does a
job that is above the
standard.
Sharon stands head and
shoulders above many of
the other security personnel that I have observed at
Sun N Fun over the years.
Not only is she efficient,
but she is also friendly.
I found myself looking forward to her morning welcome as well as her afternoon farewell on a daily
basis.
I further hope that in the
years to come I might still
find Sharon at gate #39!

I just wanted to drop you a line in appreciation for the effort and support we received
from Jerry Daniels last week on Wednesday 4/27/11 during the devastating weather
event we experienced. Once I noticed our area was put under a tornado watch, I called
Jerry and asked him to stay close to the NOAA weather radio in the guard house and
keep me and the employees working that night informed with any changes in the weather. Jerry stayed in constant contact with Eric Ward, our Flex Crew Team Leader, and I
from around 7:30 pm until 1:00 am giving us updates and feedback from what he was
hearing on the radio. Jerry, Eric and I were monitoring the weather from several different sources and were able to make very good decisions on how to keep our employees
safe and aware of their surroundings during this weather event.
On behalf of Hapco and the Management Team here, I want to thank Jerry for his efforts
and help during this time of great concern.

We commend members of your
staff, including Leonardo
Delgado and Carlos
De la Rosa, for their prompt,
professional and thorough
response to an unfortunate
incident that placed my wife in
risk of harm by four
unauthorized persons in the SP

When my wife brought the
situation to the attention of
Ramon at the SP desk he
summoned your staff who
came to the immediate
assistance of my wife, greatly
allaying her concern for her

I witnessed your staff taking the
wrongdoer to Ramon at the

same time getting the trucks in and out.

I am especially appreciative of the work of our Site Commander, Grayling Holder. He immediately took ownership of the Site Commander position in mid 2008 when we made the switch to
US Security. He has done an excellent job of keeping us informed of every and all issues, be
it day or night. His dedication to duty is always above and beyond the call of duty. I could not
ask for a better site commander than Grayling to handle my security needs.
Please feel free to share this note with the guards at the site. I want them to know that their
efforts over the years are greatly appreciated by the Teammates at Bridgestone.

Great job William!
I received a very moving call from a customer named Priscilla (no last name). Priscilla
was very emotional and in tears throughout the conversation. She relates she is a long
term customer from SA36 and is used to the "crazy driving/drivers from the
southside". Today she was leaving the store with her two kids (1 girl aged 6 and a boy
aged 8). She was pushing her basket holding the little girls hand who was holding the
little boys hand. A female driver distracted by her cell phone took off at an accelerated
rate. She did not see the children. Officer Morales pulled the children out of harms
way while simultaneously jumping in front of the vehicle. The driver stopped in time and
realizing the severity of the situation lost it herself.
Priscilla went on to say that she never met Officer Morales however is familiar with him
by his presence and friendly attitude. He frequently high fives her son who is drawn by
the uniform. She kept calling him a hero because his selfless actions. "He doesn't know
me yet risked his safety for my children's safety". She needed to know that someone
here knew what type of employee we have representing us. We should be proud.
I thanked her for taking the time to call and bringing this to my attention. I promised I
would relay the message to his superiors. As previously discussed, I am very pleased
with his presence and this accentuates his performance.

I wanted to again thank you and your officers for the professional handling of the Store 5
incident on 05/30/2011. As the attached report indicates, at first glance this incident appears to be a somewhat routine occurrence where a suspected shoplifter fails to cooperate with a contact and stop, flees and then is involved in a motor vehicle collision in the
store parking lot.
Your officer did however obtain a license plate number from the suspect vehicle and fully
documented the incident on the attached report.
On June 01, 2011, the matter became something entirely different when Denver Police
homicide investigators contacted our District Loss Prevention Manager requesting video
of the suspect and event in question. It turns out that the suspect vehicle was reported
stolen and the owner of the vehicle was found to be a homicide victim. The shoplift suspect contacted by your officer on 05/30/2011 is now a “person of interest” in what the
police are characterizing as a gang related homicide investigation.
We appreciate your officer‟s adherence to our shoplift policy and his efforts to secure the
license plate number from the suspect vehicle. Most importantly, we are pleased that
the incident was handled in such a manner as no injuries were sustained by any party. With the information now available to us all, I‟m sure we can agree that there was
great potential for a much less desirable outcome had things been handled differently.
Again I thank you and your officers for the services you assist us with. I look forward to
working closely with you in the future on matters of mutual interest and concern.

U.S. Security wears Black and Orange during
Memorial Day weekend
U.S. Security was honored to assist the Public Safety department of Princeton University during their annual
three-day Reunion. During this time the Princeton alumni get to catch up with old friends; enjoy live bands,

were the Beach Boys and Naughty by Nature.
The event was a huge success and could not

Exemplary Contributions
On April 5, 2011 at approximately 0330 hours in the morning, Security
Officer Bryan Coleman was patrolling on foot at Hanson & Adkins Auto
Transport in Jacksonville, FL when he came across two unknown suspects walking around within the enclosed property. Knowing that no one
should be on the property Officer Coleman challenged both suspects
and advised them that they were on private property.
At this time one of the suspects fled on foot, while the other suspect began to approach Officer Coleman. Officer Coleman instructed the suspect to stop at which time the suspect began to violently attacked Officer Security Officer Bryan Coleman
Coleman. Both the suspect and Officer Coleman continued the altercation for several minutes at which
time the suspect got to his feet and fled on foot. Officer Coleman was able to contact the local police department who are handling the investigation.
Officer Coleman who is a current member of the U.S. Army showed excellent judgment and bravery in
his handling of this incident. Officer Coleman suffered a busted lip, some scratches and a partially torn
uniform. U.S. Security Associates, Inc. as well as Hansen & Adkins Auto Transport could not be more
pleased with his courageous acts. Officer Coleman has been nominated for a Distinguished Service
Award.
OUR SECURITY OFFICERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
At approximately 1143 hrs on 6/8/2011 received a call from Security Officer Mike Taylor stating that there
was a man down at shipping dock 3 in the truck well. The clients‟ LPM, LPS, and myself responded and
arrived on scene approximately a minute later.
Upon arrival I found a jockey driver laying on his right side, under a trailer, just behind the back wheels. I
immediately contacted Security Officer Mike Taylor via radio and instructed him to contact 911 and advise
them we need an ambulance for a male that got struck by a semi trailer. After instructing the other jockeys to make sure the trailer was secured, I began administering first aid. Pulse and breathing was rapid
and he was complaining of severe pain in his right and left hip. I then contacted all Security personnel via
radio and instructed them to prepare for Bazetta EMS to arrive. I maintained manual inline stabilization
until EMS arrived.
After I instructed security to prepare for EMS arrival Security Officer Wesley Kimbler proceeded to the
front entrance in our security vehicle to escort EMS to my location. Security Officer April Cheesbro
stopped all truck traffic at the truck gate to insure an easy ingress for the EMS vehicle. Approximately
1148hrs EMS arrived and they were escorted to the location of the incident without delay. I gave a brief
description of the incident to the EMS providers and assisted with the loading of the patient into the ambulance. Security Officer Wesley Kimbler then escorted the EMS vehicle off of our lot at approximately
1205hrs.

“Shredding Party”
PACE CAR program is rolled out during the annual “Shredding Party”!
The PACE CAR program is a citizen-based traffic calming program which is designed to encourage residents to pro-actively promote
driver responsibility and roadway safety through an educational and awareness campaign. The goal is to create safer streets in the
Rossmoor, New Jersey community by encouraging residents to:
Drive within the posted speed limits.
Observe and stop at all STOP signs
Stop to let residents cross the streets in a safe manner
Observe all one-way designated streets
Be courteous to bicyclists and other motorists; and
Reduce car usage and explore alternate methods of transportation.
This program was modeled after similar ones in other communities, towns, and cities and incorporated for Rossmoor by the Rossmoor
PACE CAR committee and U.S. Security. Those residents who join pledge to drive responsibly and will receive a window decal that
designates the driver as a PACE CAR program participant. By displaying the decal and following the program, they encourage other
drivers to do the same. As these residents drive the speed limit and observe good driving habits, they set the pace for other drivers
following behind them. During the roll out of the PACE CAR program, U.S. Security hosted their annual “Shredding Party” on June 4th
for the residents at Rossmoor to destroy unneeded sensitive documents in a safe and security manner by providing a mobile shredding
unit for community use. Over 6,540 pounds of documents were shredded during the day. Refreshments we donated by Johanna
Farms and Pechter‟s of Harrison, NJ. The marble pound cake was delicious!
Thank you Captain Kim Handl and Mike Pisano for all of your help!

Commitment to Service
This note is a little late to you, but I would be remiss if I failed to express our appreciation for the efforts put forth by your Columbus
Branch Manager, Tim Kennedy and our National Account Manager, Cindy McQuaid, in ensuring the success of our annual shareholder‟s meeting, which was held on May 17th.
Beginning in mid-April, Tim began having discussions in earnest with our local JPMorgan Chase Global Security & Investigations
team to plan security guard coverage for the event. The number of officers and scope of services requested quickly expanded to
include more than eighty (80) special duty officers and the coordination of metal detector and x-ray services.
Tim successfully coordinated resources from five (5) North Central Business Units. Over the course of two (2) days, May 16th and
May 17th, your officers, Tim Kennedy, the Columbus office team members and Cindy McQuaid, provided security at:
Facility entrance/exit points,
The main interior office areas,
Command centers
The CEO‟s temporary office and emergency extraction spaces,
Meeting rooms,
Co-located branch banking office,
Interior / exterior patrols and check points.
As a unit, Tim and his team were proficient in their planning and execution. The relationship between JPMorgan Chase, law enforcement and U.S. Security proved to be invaluable when planning event security, exchanging protestor intelligence and responding to the numerous security challenges faced during the two-days.
I know you are proud to count Tim, Cindy and the Columbus Office representatives as part of your management team. Know that
they, and your security officers, represented your company professionally, with courtesy and a successful strategic focus.

We had two instances last week where guards stopped items from leaving our building that
belong to the company and without permission. These situations fall into the category that
merit rewards.
In both cases these officers questioned associates as they were leaving the facility carrying
items they did not have property removal passes for. One guard, Dawn Shultz, actually
stopped two different associates on the same evening who were removing fabric from our
Custom Decorating operation. The other cases involved a guard, David Webb, who stopped
an associate carrying a tray of tools used in Custom Decorating. The associate stated that
the tools were her own and were brought from home. Officer Webb advised the associate the
tools would need to remain here until some further checking could be done to verify they belonged to her. The tools were verified as company property.

In Remembrance: Officer Costas “Gus” Verinakis
Costas “Gus” Verinakis, passed away Easter Sunday at the age of 69. Gus
served as a Security Officer on the ExxonMobil account for over 9 years.
He gave exemplary service to ExxonMobil and was loved deeply by all. Gus
was a strong pillar who dedicated himself selflessly to serving those around
him. He was a proud man whose presence brought feelings of safety, assurance and genuine concern to those he was entrusted to protect and
serve. His loving wife of 40 years, 2 daughters, 1 son and several grandchildren, as well as all those he has touched throughout the years will miss
him dearly. USA has lost an exemplary officer who reflected the core values
this company was founded on. It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye

force has received one more outstanding Officer.

Experience Counts!
Anniversaries!
10+ Years of Service
Experience is important in any job, but never more important than
in the security business. Not only does experience help us to perform our
daily responsibilities better, it really counts when “the chips are down” and
we must react to a fire, forced entry or other emergency at a client site. Our
clients recognize this and love to see the same security officers, supervisors
and branch office representatives on their site year-after-year.
Fortunately, we have a great deal of experience within the company.
I am proud to say that last year alone, we recognized 1,900 Associates for
five or more years of service. This strong experience base is an important reason why the U.S. Security Associates team is the “best in the business.”
