CIS Africa Tour Announcement
On behalf of the CIS Committee for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, I am pleased to present the
details of the fall 2015 Africa tour.
The Council of International Schools (CIS) is a non-profit organization that has been sponsoring
recruitment tours around the world, with a specific focus on undergraduate students, for over 30 years.
The Committee for Europe, the Middle East and Africa is composed of a group of experienced admission
professionals who volunteer their time to plan and direct recruitment tours to these regions. The
collective experience of committee volunteers allows CIS to provide thoughtful, efficient and professional
recruitment opportunities in various regions around the world and the tour to Africa is no exception.
The 2015 tour will begin October 18th and finish on October 29th with an optional add-on to Accra, Ghana.
The tour will visit the following cities:
Johannesburg, South Africa
Cape Town, South Africa
Harare, Zimbabwe
Maputo, Mozambique
Bulawayo, Zimbabwe
Kigali, Rwanda
Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania
Nairobi, Kenya
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Accra, Ghana(optional)
Each stop will provide ample opportunity to meet students while also engaging with parents and
counselors throughout the region. School visits will often include a combination of college fairs and
presentations on topics pertaining to the college search process and general admission procedures.
We are pleased to engage the services of a professional travel provider from Wren & Fida International to
travel with and provide logistical assistance throughout the tour, which enables us to offer an
exceptionally high level of service and support to tour participants both pre-departure and along the tour
route.
The application deadline for the tour is May 15, 2015 and a deposit of $1,000 is required with all
applications. The cost of the tour is $14,520 (including deposit). Tour participants are able to choose to
participate through the closing dinner in Addis Ababa or to pay the additional fee for the stop in Accra.
The add-on to Ghana is $1,480. The cost of the add-on to Ghana will include the flight from Addis to
Accra, one hotel night, visa and all transportation between airport, school visits and hotel. Wren and
Fida will work with each individual traveler for necessary flights and extra hotel nights needed in Accra or
Addis Ababa.
Further details including the tentative itinerary, included features, terms of participation, and the tour
application form can be found at the CIS website www.cois.org under the section “For Colleges and
Universities”. Should you need additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me at
amyk@stedwards.edu or 512-448-8508. You may also direct questions about the tour or CIS in general

rewarding.
