INTEC Business School
For more than 90 years, we at INTEC College have kept a
close involvement with commerce and industry. We are in
constant communication with different types of employers working in large companies or small organisations. Despite
the massive differences in size and activities of their
organisations, employers throughout South Africa
all have two things in common:
• They experience ever-increasing scarcity of educated
people in all areas of management.
• They select, employ and promote people with initiative
and determination.
Since 1906, over one million students in South Africa have
used their initiative and determination to improve their
career prospects by studying with INTEC College.
INTEC Business School courses are produced by subject
matter experts in close collaboration with College staff. The
outstanding achievements of our students are evidence
of the excellence of our tuition. By taking the initiative to
request this brochure, you have shown that you have the
ambition to succeed. Now, have the determination to enrol.
Whatever course you select, you will be provided with the
best tuition available and you will also be given all the
support you need to achieve your goals.
Programme Type
INTEC offers three types of programmes, namely National
Qualifications, Provider Programmes, and Agent Programmes:
National Qualifications are credit bearing qualifications
registered on the NQF and accredited by a Quality
Assurance Body.
Provider Programmes are unique to INTEC and are designed
to increase and enhance your skills and knowledge within your
chosen field.
Agent Programmes are programmes and qualifications for
which INTEC offers tuition, but where INTEC does not issue
the final certificate (the agent body issues the final certificate).
For more information about the types of programmes that
INTEC offers, please see the INTEC General Brochure.

Finance for Non-financial Managers
Financial management is a fundamental part of the success
of a business. Without any knowledge of what financial
management is, how important it is and how it must be
applied in a business enterprise, it is unthinkable to assume
that a business enterprise will be a success. The purpose
of this course is to introduce you to the basic principles
underlying financial management and financial controls.
It will explain the scope of financial management and how it
affects other types of management. This is important for you
as a non-financial manager as it will make your interaction
with financial managers more resourceful. Understanding the
role of financial management also gives context to your own
decision-making.
Basic Introduction to Law in South Africa
If you are a new kid on the block or want to improve your
knowledge in the latest developments in South African
law, then this course is for you! Every person needs a basic
knowledge of legislation, contracts and the legal implications
of their day-to-day actions. You will be exposed to legal
terminology, basic principles of employment law, contract law,
commercial law, and so on.
13
Understanding Tax in South Africa
This course will provide you with a basic understanding
of how the tax system in South Africa works. This includes
personal income tax, company tax, and so on. If you are
already familiar with these concepts you will also benefit, since
you will receive updated information on the latest changes in
legislation and requirements.
Investment made Easy
Traditionally, South Africans spend more than they save or
invest. This course helps make it easier for you to invest,
which is why this self enrichment course aims to assist you
in turning a relatively small amount of money into a real nest
egg for the future.
This course is ideal for the person interested in maximum
return on their investments.
