One robber was early yesterday morning (Wednesday, October 16, 2013) caught breaking into the
National Water Commission’s Rock Spring Water Supply Zone Station in the Rock Fort area of St.
Andrew.
The robber was held by an NWC security team while trying to cut his way into the facility after having removed several louvres from the windows, removed sections of an air conditioning unit and other repair material stored at the location. He was subsequently turned over to the Rockfort Police who are continuing investigations into the matter.
On several previous occasions the Rock Spring Zone Station had been robbed of its perimeter fence, broken into and robbed of refrigerators, de-watering pumps, air-conditioning units, specialized saws, pipes and other equipment valued at over $3M.
