Our two campuses on 42 acres are centrally located near downtown Orlando. Founded in 1970, the school attracts a diverse student population from the metropolitan area and surrounding counties. The lakefront main campus is home to our Upper and Lower Schools. The Charles Clayton Middle School Campus, five blocks away, provides students in grades 7 and 8 with their own dynamic atmosphere. The exceptional facilities on both campuses include advanced technology in all classrooms including one-to-one iPads, science labs, a state-ofthe-art performing arts center, acres of athletic fields, courts, an Olympic swimming complex, and fitness center. The Advanced Studies in Science and Research Program (ASPIRE) offers students with a keen interest in science the opportunity to pursue original scientific research. Students spend a minimum of three hours per week in a research laboratory working with a PhD or MD on advanced research projects. The Rossman Writing Center and Key Instructional Leadership Team (KILT) provide mentoring experiences for upperclassmen that foster leadership, service, responsibility, and an in-depth intellectual interest in an academic subject. The Merit Studies Program challenges the academically talented student in and out of the classroom. Merit Studies students must enroll in three or more honors level classes each semester, complete three years in the same classical or modern language, and achieve four credits at AP level. Students must maintain a 3.7 weighted grade point average to continue in the program.
