Skills in solving equations in two variables and in handling exponent functions, square roots, quadratic equations, real numbers and inequalities will also be reinforced. The geometry part of the course students will study the basic geometric language, parallel and perpendicular lines and planes, right triangle relationships, circles and their areas, lateral area and volume of solids, introduction to coordinate geometry and trigonometry. ALGEBRA II Grades 10-12 (Credit: 1) Pre-requisites: Algebra I & Geometry This class is less rigorous than Algebra 2/ Trigonometry and is intended for those students who still require further development of their algebraic skills. This course is designed to reinforce the algebraic skills, to further develop abilities in problem solving, to prepare students for IB courses. ALGEBRA II/TRIGONOMETRY Grades 10-12 (Credit: 1) Pre-requisites: Algebra I, Geometry and Teacher Recommendation This course is intended as a foundation for higher level courses in mathematics. Students will study real numbers and an introduction to complex numbers. The functions studied are: linear, quadratic, trigonometric, exponential, logarithmic, rational and radical functions. An introduction to matrix algebra will be taught. FOREIGN LANGUAGES Students in grade 10 have the choice of French, or Spanish offered from Level I-II and Level IV. Italian is offered from Level I-V. Grades 9 - 12 (Credit: 1) Level I: This course acquaints the student with basic vocabulary, grammar and some aspects of civilization through the use of a text, audio material and, in second semester, of a reader.
