Early Leak Detection
Pipelines have the same job in a national economy as arteries in an organism.
They transport important raw materials. As in the organism, any interruption and/or
disturbance can have unfavourable effects on the whole system. So the safe, reliable
transport of media in pipelines is an absolute must. Interruptions must be avoided.
Pig trap
In pipelines which are mostly underground or offshore, these can lead to substantial
complications. One of the most serious problems is leaks. These can have different
causes, such as irregularities in a welded seam, corrosion, or a material defect. Holes
and tears can
expand to large leaks, and even lead to a burst pipeline.
The consequences are not only loss of product and expensive failures, but also very
costly environmental pollution. So, early leak detection is of the greatest importance.

Methods of pipeline inspection.
Measurement methods that rely on pressure reduction or volume loss are not
frequent or sensitive enough to find small leaks. With large leaks, however, they
react immediately and lead to shutting down entire systems.
Pipeline
The most sensitive measurement procedures, accomplished in various ways by
Intelligent pigs (PIGs, Pipeline Inspection Gauges), are very cost-intensive.
These costs are caused by large material and personnel expenditures. Also,
pipeline operation can be impaired or interrupted for several days.
With this background, our expert team has pursued a clear goal: Development and
manufacture of a highly sensitive but still flexible procedure for early leak
recognition.

The GLD equipment system in detail.
The GLD 202 Leak Detector is in a pressure and explosion-proof housing. It is very
compactly built. It works in a wide variety of pipe diameters, adapted by the
GLD 303 Chassis. The liquid in the pipeline serves to transport it.
Leak detection is based on an acoustic measurement method. Leaks with a flow of
more than 5 litres per hour cause a characteristic leaking noise in pressurized
pipelines. The detector searches in the ultrasonic range for this noise. Interference
caused by pumps, rivers, road traffic, etc, is recognized by spectrographic analysis
and classified as harmless.
GLD 500 Marker
The pig detector
Each acoustic event is identified with a specific location in the pipe. Any unusual
noise can be precisely located within a few meters, depending on system
equipment. This is done by time and distance measurement.
The system uses detected sources of interference to measure distance.
These are used as acoustic waypoints. If the number of existing sources is not
sufficient, additional waypoints, the GLD 500 Marker unit and/or the GLD 600 Pig
Detector can be used. The markers continually produce a prominent ultrasonic
signal, which is recognized by the detector’s electronics.
The pig detector, however, serves two functions. It marks certain points while
traversing the pipeline, and monitors the run. With ultrasonic, the pipe is scanned
for leak detectors moving past. When a leak detector is recognized, a signal is
conveyed to the control room and a marker signal is sent for a short time.
The number of the necessary marker units and/or pig detectors depends on the
length and profile of the pipeline. Upward and downward gradients, which affect the
running speeds of the GLD 202, can be marked acoustically. It may be necessary to
be able to recognize such sections during later evaluation of the recorded data.
Step by step to the result.
The operating procedure in practice.
Preparation for a pipeline run begins with putting the GLD 202 Detector into the
receptacle of the GLD 406 Battery Charger. Then an electrical connection is made
by cable between the detector and charger. Operating voltages of the GLD 202 are
examined and if necessary, its batteries are charged. Removing the chassis, or
opening the detector, is no longer necessary for charging.
Now the detector is set up with the help of a PC. The parameters for the start and
end of data recording, as well as other settings necessary for documentation of the
pipeline run, are adjusted. Subsequently, if needed, the protective cap over the plug
connection is closed.

Then the assembly is placed in the chassis. The optional odometer wheels are
electrically connected to the detector. These signals are outside the danger zone in
a potentially explosive atmosphere.
The detector installed in its chassis meets all standards for explosion prevention.
After insertion into the pig trap, it is flooded and the journey down the pipeline
begins.

Chemical Cleaning
Our highly experienced, qualified chemists,
chemical engineers, project managers and trained
operatives provide customised chemical cleaning
and decontamination services using a wide range
of cleaning agents and chemicals, including our own proprietary formulations.
Oil industry
Pipe-flow software helps us ensure optimum
circulation for maximum surface contact and cleaning. We own and operate the
plant required to provide:

Chemical cleaning and pipeline pigging: soda ash washing to remove
Polyphonic acids, and foam chemical cleaning of fin fans, with waste
acceptable to Refinery WWTPs
Power generation industry
Our in-house specialists identify the correct chemicals, pressures, temperatures,
flow rates, flushing regime and passivation processes, to develop the right method to deal quickly with in-service cleaning requirements.
We offer a specialist team to advise on, and provide, effective, pre-commission
chemical cleaning for the boiler and associated pipework in new build power generation plants, including hydro testing HRSGs and cleaning CCGT gas lines.
Among other methods, we also use hydrolysing on steam lines before steam
blowing. For all projects, we supply experienced manpower for both day and night
work, as well as all necessary plant and equipment, and can arrange effluent
treatment and transportation.
Heat exchangers and PCHE cleaning

heat exchangers and associated
pipework, using specialist chemical
formulations designed for the offshore
sector. Circulation pumps are easily
connected to the exchangers, and little preparation or dismantling is required.
Decontamination
Liquid phase decontamination, using proprietary chemicals, removes organics
from inside pipes, vessels and exchangers. Our chemical technologies separate
contaminants from solids and water to reduce, and often eliminate entirely, thirdparty waste disposal charges.
High-Pressure water Jetting
Water is a versatile and flexible medium for cutting, cleaning and stripping. Under
pressure it becomes ever more potent, and we can vary its intensity and cleaning
capabilities almost infinitely, with different tools, nozzles and temperatures.
We cover all aspects of water jetting, from cleaning deck and preparing surfaces,
to major pipe, vessel and exchanger work, including hot water pressure jetting
and remote jetting techniques. Our containerised mounted equipment is designed
and certified to operate in Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas.
Water jetting is ideally suited to removing general deposits, de-scaling process
pipe work and cleaning industrial equipment and pressure vessels, as well as removing coatings and preparing surfaces.

Process pipe work - remedial and preventative cleaning to maximise life expectancy and performance, including Aquaria, which cleans up to 300m from a single access point.

Heat exchanger trains - cleaning all heat exchanger components effectively to
reduce frequency of cleaning, prepare for IRIS inspection, minimise downtime
and maximise plant production.

Crude oil storage tanks - the automated BTS process cleans both floating and
fixed tanks safely, without the use of chemicals, in a short space of time.

Product tanks and pressure vessels - enclosed 2-D and 3-D non-man entry tank
cleaning systems remove product, by-product, scale or corrosion and help
achieve maximum capacity,
increased throughput, enhanced product quality and improved production
levels.



Surface preparation - quicker, safer, cleaner and more flexible than traditional
shot and grit \ blasting, with no secondary damage or contamination.

Process pipework - from a single access point, Aquadril can clean up to 300m
of pipework, including directional changes and vertical sections, without the
need for dismantling.t is suitable for all pipe diameters and most pipe materials,
and can completely contain hazardous waste.

Heat exchangers - removing scale and fouling from all components to regain
full operational efficiency.

Pressure vessels and tanks - removing product, by-product or corrosion to
maximise capacity and increase throughput.

Internal caisson cleaning - our environmentally-safe system, Torpedo, operates
below water level to remove all scale and marine growth from the caisson
interior and bring it to deck level for disposal.

FPSO Cargo Tank Cleaning - cleaning cargo tanks and slop oil tanks quickly
and safely before inspection and repair.
Oil Tank Cleaning and De-sludging - Water Jetting (commonly known as Ultra
High Pressure (UHP) and High Pressure (HP) ) is increasingly used by industry
as an efficient and effective technology for environmentally sensitive tank/
vessel cleaning, descaling, coating removal and cold cutting Operations.


Cold Cutting - a combination of high-pressure water and abrasive garnet creates a powerful tool for cold cutting of steel, concrete and other composite materials, with no significant heat generation - ideal for potentially hazardous locations alongside live plant.

Inspection - Testing - Service & Maintenance
Maritime Inspection Services
ATC provides annual and five year inspection of davits and lifeboats to the owners on all
SOLAS ships enabling them to meet new IMO regulations entering into force on
July 1, 2006, MSC.1 /Circ.1206 SOLAS chapter III. The new SOLAS regulations detail critical
items which need to be controlled and checked during maintenance.
Lifeboat and davit annual and five-year inspections
When it comes to lifeboat and davit inspections, repairs,
maintenance and modification, we are your first choice
in South East Asia.
We closely collaborate with lifeboat and davit
manufacturers, classification societies and flag states,
and will be able to assist you in bringing lifeboat hooks
and release systems up to new standards and
requirements of IMO and SOLAS. ATC repairs are carried out by experienced technicians according

Load testing cranes, davits, gangways and accommodation ladders
Our engineers perform dynamic and static load test of any davit. Our Davits and Cranes Load Test
System has different capacity of water bags and can cover load test requirements for equipment
with SWL up to 50 tons.
Water bags are approved by classification societies and all load cells are calibrated.
