UCA Lower division core requirements for Critical Inquiry Social
Science will be completed as students complete the Economics
Major courses
 Students may complete their UCA Lower Division Core
requirements by taking classes either inside or outside of the
College of Business
UCA Upper Division Core
 At least one upper division course in each of the following
categories is required: Diversity (D), Effective Communication
(C), Responsible Living (R), Critical Inquiry (I), and Capstone
Experience (Z)
 A course may satisfy up to 2 of these requirements
 Students will meet each of these requirements except for
Responsible Living and Diversity by completing the major
required courses. The Responsible Living and Diversity
requirements can be met by choosing a designated course in the
Upper Division Economics Electives, the Minor or the general
electives.
Math - 8 hours additional to general education
Major – 30 hours
Minor – 18 hours
Electives to equal 120 hours
A course may not be counted in both the major and the minor.
**Note:
The major will vary from 27-39 hours depending on the overlap
between the UCA Lower Division Core courses and major
courses.
Minor: 18-24 hours
2. No more than 30 hours may be taken in Business. Business
courses are considered to be courses with the following
prefixes: ACCT, FINA, INSU, MGMT, MIS, MKTG, QMTH.
3. At least a 2.000 Grade Point Average is required overall, in the
major, and in the minor
