Biology Test Item Specification for Grade 9-10 Teachers
The assessment of Biology Teachers for grades 9 to 10 consists of two types of tests. The first
test contains Subject matter standard questions and the second Pedagogical standard
questions. Each section counts for a percentage of the total score 100% . The areas of Subject
matter Content scores 75% and the Pedagogical content scores 25%, from each content area
the approximate number of Objective response questions are 75 and Subjective response tests
5, and this makes total 80 questions for Biology exam. The percentage of total test score
derived from each test section is shown in the table below. Further information regarding the
Content and Pedagogical Standards included in each focus area can be found in the test
Framework. The time given for each test is 2 hours/ 120 minutes.
