Scripture
•
The #1 metaphor God uses to help us understand how much God loves us:
•
“That is why a man leaves his father and mother and clings to his wife, and the two of them
become one body.” Genesis 2:24
•
“He who loves his wife loves himself.…even as Christ does the Church.” V. 31 quotes Gen.
2:24. “This is a great mystery, I speak of Christ and the church.” Ephesians 5:28b-32
•
“The wedding day of the lamb has come, his bride has made herself ready.” Revelation 19:7b

Holy Matrimony
Relationship & Context
Sacramental marriage requires more than just a good relationship between husband and wife.
It also requires:
1.
A relationship with God lived out for others
 Raising children in the Catholic faith and as members of the Catholic community
 Attending Sunday Mass
 Serving others through ministry in the Church
2. Living the Sacraments: of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist
To be honest
- it hasn’t
always been
paradise,
But the joy
of our union
has grown
every year,
This is the
power of
grace!
We continue
to experience
the
efficacious
sign of our
sacrament,
The primary
conduit of
grace in our
lives,
That grace is
a perpetual
gift!
