A bit about myself...
For those of you who don’t know me, I am a modeler - have been since I was 5. My main interests
are in radio control (scale & sport flying), as well as building plastic kits. I am currently working on
several scale projects including an Sportsman Scale Ryan SCW-145 for competition.
My entire working career has been spent in advertising and/or pre-press shops. I started out In
1982 at World Engines, running their entire in-house graphics arts department. After W.E. closed,
I worked for a couple of different commercial printers in the Cincinnati area. In 1992, I came to
work for Dave Brown Products - creating all of his advertising, as well as other duties. I left Dave’s
in November ‘98, to focus full-time on Airborne Media. In January 1999 I became the advertising
representative for Model Aviation.
A bit about Airborne Media...

ACADEMY OF MODEL AERONAUTICS | ADVERTISING INFORMATION
who
we are
We stand on our own for our members and for
the future of aeromodeling.
The Academy of Model Aeronautics is the world’s largest model aviation
association and is the official sanctioning body for model aviation in
the United States representing the interests of aeromodeling across the
United States and around the world. As a self-supporting, nonprofit
organization, our purposes is to promote the development of model
aviation as a recognized hobby, sport, and family recreational activity that
is both fun and educational.
Founded in 1936, the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) was
charged with promoting the popularity of aeromodeling and associated
contests which coincided with the development and advancement of
commercial and military aircraft design, engineering and manufacturing.
Today, the AMA still fosters the innovation born from competition
on an international scale through the sanctioning of more than 2,000
aeromodeling competitions each year.
GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
The AMA has a long and successful history of advocating for the flying
privileges of the aeromodeling community. As the liaison with the
Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Communications Commission,
Environmental Protection Agency, and other governmental entities,
AMA works diligently with some of the most respected organizations in
aviation and government to protect modelers’ right to fly in the national
airspace while providing an exceptional safety program.
EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH
Our active educational outreach program assists teachers who utilize
aviation activities in support of math, science, and technology curricula.
Additionally, AMA has awarded more than $800,000 dollars in
scholarships to hundreds of students in pursuit of study in the fields of
aerospace design and engineering along with other aviation-related fields.
Model Aviation is the flagship publication of the Academy of Model
Aeronautics and the official voice of the AMA, providing coverage for all
facets of aeromodeling.
Our most widely-distributed publication inspires readers to embrace their
love of model aviation. With a primary focus on RC flight, each monthly
issue is compiled from submissions by some of the industry’s most
accomplished personalities and aspires to foster a sense of community
among modelers.

CONTEMPORARY
Redesigned to become even more visually engaging.
In 2012, Model Aviation was redesigned to bring the publication more in-line with the aesthetic values our readers were asking for.
We evaluated everything you see from the materials used to the size of the type that appears on each page. We even evaluated things

PILOTS KNOW
The fun is in the flying.
INTUITIVE
Written in plain English, for plane people.
Flying doesn’t have to be complicated - it just has to be fun. For some, enjoying aviation can be as simple as soaring a foam model
among the treetops or even guiding a helicopter to your favorite coffee-cup landing pad. Still for others, the satisfaction of crafting
a perfect replica of a timeless classic is what keeps them coming back for more. Either way, today our hobby is more accessible than
ever to anyone who wants to fly. Park Pilot’s unique approach to connecting with readers fosters that idea using language and imagery
that can be appreciated by pilots of all skill levels.
TRUSTED
Created by experts who know what readers need to.
Park Pilot is composed by accomplished aeromodelers who are well-respected contributors to our hobby, and who have an interest
in helping aspiring pilots get comfortable in the cockpit. Our columnists draw from their vast personal experiences to help readers
understand the products and techniques that will lead to success whether its their first time at the sticks or they’re striving to finesse
a stubborn aerobatic maneuver. Atop the expertise of our columnists, Park Pilot carries the full accreditation of the Academy of
Model Aeronautics - the world’s largest model aircraft association. Our readers trust this publication - and for good reason.
entertaining
These people want to have fun.
Most of all, this magazine celebrates the joy of aviation and underscores what many aspiring pilots still don’t know - you don’t have
to be an engineer, a scientist, or a professional competitor to have a good time. Park Pilot’s relaxed style creates a cozy connection
between columnists and readers and illustrates the camaraderie of pilots, the excitement of new experiences, and the delight of
getting a model out of the box and into the air! We think the fun business is a good business to be in.

SET ALL IMAGES AND GRAPHICS SENDING YOUR FILES
Send your advertisement to us by the materials’ due date. We
TO CMYK COLOR MODE
offer three methods for you to submit your digital files to us:
Although modern print systems will automatically convert
RGB images to CMYK mode for printing, some changes
in color will often occur. Ensure all images and graphics
are set to the CMYK color mode to obtain a better
representation of how colors will look in the printed
product. When converting, you may notice that some colors,
particularly those that are especially ‘vibrant’ may appear
more ‘dull’ in appearance. This is a normal occurrence as
some colors that can be produced on your computer’s
screen cannot be recreated in the CMYK printing process.
