Complete and submit the FAFSA (federal aid application) at www.fafsa.gov Enter your name (and parents’ names if required) exactly as on your social security card/s. Enter NC State’s school code, 005313, where required. Use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, an optional part of FAFSA processing, to electronically transfer your tax return information onto the FAFSA. The FAFSA processor may select you for verification which is a method of double-checking some of the information you put on your FAFSA. If selected, the Financial Aid Office will send you instructions for completing the process. Aid cannot be awarded until verification is complete. 4. Submit a copy of your high school transcript (showing date of graduation) or GED certificate to the NC State Admissions Office. 5. When your aid file is complete, the Financial Aid Office will send you an award letter which will show you what you are eligible to receive. 6.
