Tes ng Informa on The Medical/Surgical Nursing Certification is accomplished by
completing a computer-based test (Pencil and paper testing is an
option through MSNCB at a few sites 4 times per year.).
Computer tests are offered throughout the year so there are no
application deadlines that need to be met (be ware of testing
windows once you have applied). You will want to schedule the
test to occur shortly after you complete this course. The exams
are scheduled at the candidate’s convenience, and are generally
offered five or six days a week, depending on the site.
There are two options for applying for the exam (you only need
to apply through one of these sites, not both):
1.) Apply online or download an application to take the exam
through the Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Board
(MSNCB) website at http://msncb.org/apply.
CentraCare Health offers the MSNCB FailSafe Program which
allows employees to test with no up-front cost. Contact Katie
Schulz at frostk@centracare.com or ext 51332 for more
information.
2.) Apply online to take the exam through ANCC by going to:
http://www.nursecredentialing.org/Medical-SurgicalNursing
