Using the nursing process to enhance physical and psychological well-being in clients and their significant others is inherent in the role of the medical-surgical nurse. Taking this course will provide those taking the medical-surgical certification exam with information necessary for success and will include practice exam questions. For those not taking the test, the course provides an excellent review. In addition to her years in the Med-Surg areas, she has worked ICU, ED and Peri-Anesthesia. She has been an Adult Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist for more than 20 years. She has been involved in AMSN and the certification review course for almost ten years. Her heart will always be at the bedside of the Med-Surg patients and their nursing staff. Her presentations are peppered with those case scenarios that help bring her point’s home to that passion. She is currently a Specialist in Quality and Patient Safety at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, in St. Louis, MO. In her current role, she is responsible to the hospital administration in advising them of trends and practices applicable to the current health care environment. Hold a current, full, and unrestricted license as a registered nurse (RN) in the US; and 2. Have practiced a minimum of two (2) calendar years as an RN in a medicalsurgical setting; and 3. Have accrued a minimum of 2,000 hours within the past (3) years of practice in a medical-surgical setting. Practice may include clinical, management or education.
