Deepak Malhotra is a Professor at the Harvard Business School. He teaches Negotiation
in the MBA program and in a wide variety of Executive Education programs. Deepak has
won numerous awards for his teaching, including the prestigious “Faculty Award” by
Harvard Business School's MBA Class of 2011.
Deepak’s first book, Negotiation Genius (www.NegotiationGenius.com), was awarded the
“2008 Outstanding Book Award” by the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and
Resolution. His most recent book, I Moved Your Cheese (www.IMovedYourCheese.com),
was published in 2011, and has already sold translation rights in over 15 languages.
Deepak's research focuses on negotiation and deal-making strategy, trust development,
competitive escalation, and ethno-political dispute resolution. This work has been
published in top journals in the fields of management, psychology, negotiation, conflict
resolution, and foreign policy. Deepak’s work has also received considerable media
attention, including multiple appearances by Deepak on CNBC. Deepak's professional
activities include training, consulting, and advisory work in the area of negotiation & dealmaking for firms across the globe.
