Registration Instructions:
Ø You must fill out the top of the “APPROVAL TO TAKE CAMPBELL UNIVERSITY OFF­CAMPUS COURSES” and have the following sign the document:
1) Advisor 2) Department chair(s) of the course(s) you are taking 3) Registrar’s Office Ø Take the form to the Registrar’s Office. They will keep the top white part of the form. Ø Bring the rest of the form back to Marty Blackmon in Baldwin 005. Ø To drop a course by Jan. 12 (Spring I) or Mar. 16 (Spring II) you must
contact Marty Blackmon in the Distance Education Office, not the
Registrar’s Office. Call 910­814­4738 or email

For an overview of Bb and instructions on logging in go to the Distance Education page on our webpage www.campbell.edu. Click on Student Orientation under Quicklinks and view the PowerPoint. Policies for Main Campus Students enrolling in courses offered by Extended
Campus Education (policy as stated in the catalog) Main campus students may, depending on availability and certain criteria, enroll in courses at Campbell’s extended campuses and/or online courses offered by the Distance Education program. The following conditions apply: 1. The requested course will not be available on the main campus during the semester in which the extended campus/distance education course is requested. Furthermore, the student must demonstrate that the requested course is necessary for a timely graduation. 2. Approval must be obtained from the student’s faculty adviser, chairperson of the department where the course resides, and the Registrar. An Off Campus Approval form is available in the Registrar’s Office for this purpose. 3. A main campus student may enroll for no more than two courses per term at the extended campus sites, distance education, or combination thereof. 4. A minimum grade point average of 2.0 is required to register for one distance education course. A grade point average of 2.3 or better is required to register for two distance education courses in the same term. 5. If a student enrolls for six (6) or more semester hours on main campus and additional semester hours through extended campus sites or distance education during a semester such that he is registered for at least 12 hours, the student is considered a full time, main campus student and must pay the full time main campus student tuition and applicable fees. 6. The maximum number of combined hours from all campuses during any semester may not exceed 18.5 hours. 7. International students must obtain permission from the office of International Admissions prior to enrolling for any courses at the extended campus sites or distance education. How to Login Go to www.blackboard.campbell.edu Type in your Username* *Username = WebAccess username 2. Type in your Password** **Password = WebAccess password 3. Click Login. 4. Look under “My Courses” to find your course.
Information:
Ø Students may not take more than 15 hours of online Distance Education courses towards an Associate in Arts degree. Ø Students may not take more than 30 hours of online Distance Education courses towards a Bachelors Degree. Ø The syllabus and textbook lists will be posted on the Distance Education page on our website. Ø Students must have a functional Campbell University e­mail account and use Web Access. The Blackboard user name and password is the same as your Web Access user name and password. Ø Students that have registered will be automatically loaded into Blackboard each day. Ø Students are limited to a maximum of one DE class (3 or 4 hours) the first term they take an internet class. Thereafter students may take up to two classes a semester. Any exceptions will have to have the approval of your adviser and the Dean of Extended Campus. Ø You will be able to view your class the Wednesday before the first day of class.
Students are asked to participate in an online course orientation. After you login to Blackboard you need to self­enroll in the orientation site. Follow the directions below. Self­enroll in Student Orientation 1. Go to Blackboard, located at http://www.blackboard.campbell.edu/ 2. Click the [login] button. 3. Enter your username (same as your Web Access username) and your Blackboard password. (Web Access password) Click [login] to enter Blackboard. 4. Once you are logged in, click the [Community] tab at the top of the screen. 5. Use the Organization Search box to type in Student Orientation. Then click on the orange GO. 6. To enroll click the [Enroll] button to the right of the orientation. You may have to scroll to the right in order to see it. Do not click directly on the course name. 7. On the Self Enrollment screen click [Submit]. You will receive confirmation that your enrollment was successful. 8. Click [OK] to enter the orientation. The Student Orientation will now display in your "My Organizations" section when you log in to Blackboard.
