MISD iPads are covered at no additional cost to parents
Parent liability is limited to $50, which is covered by deposit*
New $50 deposit required to get a replacement iPad*
Deposits are carried over from year to year until student
separates from District, at which point deposit is refundable*

Getting Started
• What do parents need to do?
 Complete iPad User Agreement (Skyward)
 Google Email Notification (Skyward)
 Pay Deposit (RevTrak)
• Use of electronic processes is recommended
– Paper document and payment by check can be
sent to the campus office
– Make checks payable to the Campus
Student/Parent Responsibilities
• Find a safe location for storing and charging
the iPad at home
• Ensure student iPad is charged each night
• Do not leave the iPad in a car, on a table in the
cafeteria, book bag, or locker
• PARENTS: Monitor the use of the iPad at home
Parent Responsibility - Monitoring
• Tips for Monitoring Your Student
– Know your student’s iPad passcode
– Know your student’s school and iTunes login
information
– Monitor communication apps
– Ensure music, videos and apps adhere to MISD
policies
Apple U-13
• For Parents with students under the age of 13
– Ensure parent email in Skyward is correct
– Apple creates Apple ID for students using District
provided student email
• Student initials + ID # @misdmail.net
Example: jn123456@misdmail.net
• Apple sends email for parental consent
– Apple sends temporary password
– Parent creates new password and shares it with
student
Apple U-13
• Once your student reaches age 13, the Apple ID
converts to a full account with full rights and
privileges.
• Student must have Apple ID and password for iPad
pick-up the day of campus deployment
