All parties involved in cheating will be dealt with according to the school’s policy on cheating. 1) Do not talk, whisper to anybody or to yourself. Anything you say including "hello" or "good bye" is also considered cheating. 2) No one will be allowed to share textbooks during exams. Every student is responsible for making sure they have a textbook during exams. Other course rules: 1) During class, you must turn off all electronic devices such as cell phones or mp3 players. 2) All Homework must be e-mailed to me by due date via WebStudy e-mail. E-mail must have a descriptive subject name such as HW#1 etc. If you do not use WebStudy to email, you will be deducted 20% off of your HW grade portion. Do not use storage devices such as flash drives to hand in HW files. Keep the reference of your e-mail in the "Sent Items" as proof that you did emailed me. 3) When submitting your work, 25% penalty will be applied per each late class beyond the due date. 4) You must take the four exams, dated (03/06 & 05/08). If you miss any of these four exams without a valid reason such as sickness or death in immediate family, a makeup exam will be given with a penalty of 20%. A make-up exam/s may be given in the form of a closed book "short answer/mcq" exam. 5) All Concepts as well as Programming quizzes are optional. If you miss any quiz(s), make ups will not be given regardless of the reasons or circumstances. Instead, the grade portion of the missed quiz will be added to the mid term (if the quiz was before the mid term) or to the final exam. Also note, all Concepts as well as Programming quiz format is closed book. 6) Do not text message and/or surf the web during the lecture component of the class. A 2% deduction (from the overall course grade) will be applied per each citation of this violation. If you are done with the lab pertaining to the lecture, you may do the extra credit labs. This rule does not apply during lab time. 7) If you are done with the scheduled lab assignment before the class ends, you may leave half an hour before class ends. You will need to show me that you have completed the lab. Please note if you choose to leave early, you will not be permitted to ask me questions on that particular lab or homework. 8) If you behave in a class disruptive manner such as talking to another student or joking around (specially when I am lecturing), 1% will be deducted per each violation. 9) Do not print any material to hand in to me through out the course. Generally avoid print anything unless you absolutely have a need. 10) All work must be completed by 05/08/13. 12) Note: Any portion of the above schedule can change due to any number of reasons. You are responsible for viewing this web site on a daily basis to track announcements/changes.
