NUDIE JEANS ORANGE SELVAGE 13,5 oz orange selvage to be released JUNE 2011 Selvage production is much slower than conventionally produced denim, and only the best raw materials are used. It can be compared to the “slow food” movement; this is slow denim. Selvage denim is made on old-style shuttle looms. The fabric is woven using one continuous cross thread; the weft. As the weft loops back into the edge of the weave the selvage edge is created. This edge is usually stitched with a coloured thread. On vintage jeans, some selvage denim has green, brown or yellow thread running down the edge. These stitches were intended as distinctions used by the mills to differentiate between fabrics. Best known is the red selvage. NUDIE JEANS IS NOW OFFERING their original 13,5 oz selvage fabric with orange selvage edge. The exclusive fabric can be found in both the Dry Selvage- and Selvage Lab programmes. Four fits are available, including the new Hank Rey. No fabric ages quite as beautifully as denim; the longer you wear your jeans, the more character and attitude they acquire. You shape them with your lifestyle, and they become like a second skin. Jeans share the same soul and attitude found in the rock’n’roll scene – they’re both part of the same culture. We’ll always stay true to jeans. We’re not looking for fly-bynight fads; our inspiration is found far from the world of glamour and catwalks. We don’t just offer jeans. We offer a way of thinking, a concept, and an undying passion, fuelled by the traditions of denim and the characteristics of the fabric itself. www.nudiejeans.com
