ANGELICA TUCKER Singer/Songwriter "My goal is to share my gift that the Lord gave me with as many people that will listen. Hopefully the world." That's the dream that 22- year- old Angelica Tucker has always aimed to achieve. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Angelica basically grew up in the studio. Her father Haywood Tucker has owned Haywood's Recording Studios for close to 35 years. Haywood and her mother Jerry Tucker are both singer/songwriters, so as a little girl Angelica watched and learned from them. At the tender age of 2 Angelica began performing with her father at different events around the city. She wrote her first song at the age of 7, which of course was recorded in her father's studio. "Music is what I love. It's what I do." Says Angelica who has always wanted to be a singer and do music her entire life. Nothing else. In elementary school Angelica was listed in the year book as one of the most favorite singers by the student body. Fans list Angelica in the company of artists like Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston. Over the years Angelica has performed at many acclaimed events. Some of these events include singing the National Anthem for the Atlanta Braves, Hawks, Thrashers, Georgia Force Arena Football Team, and the former WNBA team the Atlanta Glory. She has performed at the Black Explosion for the Trumpet Awards, performed at the Stellar Awards. She was a member of the first 97.5 Gospel Youth Choir. She also sang background on three songs that appeared on Young Jeezy's Recession album. Angelica also wrote on three songs that appeared on Slim from the group 112's solo album Love's Crazy. "I am inspired by so many great artists," says Angelica. These artists include music greats like Sam Cooke, Selena, The Temptations, Otis Redding, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, John Mayer, Jackie Wilson, Michael Jackson, Rascal Flatts, Brandy, Marvin Gaye, Beyonce, Rhianna, Barbara Streisand, Young Jeezy, Drake, Mario, Trey Songz, Kim Burrell, J. Moss, and her mother and father. She is also inspired by many great songwriters. Writers like Diane Warren, Warren Campbell, Adonis Shropshire, and Smokey Robinson. "There are just so many incredible, amazing, and super talented people in music. I just want to be among those names one day."
