Humble ISD is proud of our partnerships with local colleges and universities in order to provide
our employees with multiple opportunities for continuous growth and development.
This month, we would like to highlight a few of our partnerships.
Additionally in this issue you will find information about updating your planner in Forethought
and a calendar of available workshops for the month of October.
University of Phoenix
Humble ISD has a long-standing
partnership with the University
of Phoenix to provide multiple
opportunities for on-going education and professional development. Below is an excerpt from
their brochure which can be
found on the Humble ISD PD
webpage.
Our Phoenix™ Scholarship Reward Program lets you control
your educational destiny. As long
as you stay in school and consistently work hard toward completing your associate, bachelor’s or
master’s degree you’ll remain
eligible for this program.
To participate, you must:
– Enroll and attend your first forcredit course in your associate,
bachelor’s or master’s* degree
program before November 30,
2014.
– Sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) acknowledging
the eligibility requirements and
benefits of the program. This
MOU will be presented to you in
the online application process
after you have identified your
employer.

to $10,800 by the time you graduate.
– Complete 24 credit hours over
52 weeks (associate andbachelor’s students) or 24 credits over
60 weeks (master’s students)
which is a typical academic
schedule.
Scholarship Reward Program.
– Continue to maintain your
eligibility requirements, by completing 12 credits every 26 weeks
(associate and bachelor’s students) or 12 credits every 30
weeks (master’s students.)

Superintendent
Certification Program
Master’s in Educational Leadership and
Principal Certification
Offered in an online
environment, the program is
nationally-accredited through
NCATE, has over a 90% pass
rate on the TExES, and maintains a rigorous curriculum
taught completely by highlyqualified professors with successful leadership experience.
A scholar-practitioner approach incorporates theory
and practice-based learning that
focuses on research-based
leadership practices, curriculum
and instructional leadership,
data-driven decision-making,
special programs, law, and
school and community leadership. Field experiences and/or
internship hours are included in
all coursework.
