Adelante Hispanic Achievers, Louisville, KY
Sport For Development Director
2011 – 2012
• Created and implemented Adelante’s first sport for development (SFD) program,
which led to increased participant retention rates and improved behavioural outcomes.
• Led sport for development activities for 80 Hispanic youth in grades six through 12 in
three separate programs, which led to improvement in critical areas of development.
• Recruited and coordinated volunteers to work with Adelante youth.
• Conducted impact assessments for 80 Adelante participants and 30 volunteers.
• Tutored and mentored middle school and high school-aged Hispanic youth.

Louisville I.D.E.A.L.S. is a University of Louisville student organization created to engage
students, professors and local stakeholders who seek to facilitate positive social change
through sport.
• Created and implemented a curriculum based on Olympism for a primary school in
Tobago, which lead to improved social skills and behavioural outcomes.
• Organized inaugural Olympism I.D.E.A.L.S. Festival that brought sport for
development stakeholders from around the world together for four-days of events.
• Coordinated student engagement activities for 30 Louisville I.D.E.A.L.S. members.
• Led SFD program development workshops for up to 30 students, which lead to the
creation of eight SFD programs for local non-profit organizations in the Louisville area.
• Liaised with five local non-profit organizations and coordinated student’s volunteer
interactions with each organization.
