distance learning?

complete their qualification via
distance learning every year. At the
Dec 2009 sitting, Kaplan distance
learning pass rates exceeded the
AAT averages with 88%.
What’s covered?
The AAT QCF qualification is a new
qualification and is designed to help
students to progress through the
qualification as flexible as possible.
The levels are;
Level 2 Certificate – Units covered
• Basic Accounting I
Options: 2 from 4
• Credit Management and Control
• Personal Tax
• Business Tax
• External Auditing
The vast majority of units are assessed
via computer based tests (CBT’s) which
can be taken at one of kaplan’s 28 UK
centres. You will receive a certificate
upon the completion of each level and
you will earn exemptions from future
ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAEW and ICAS
examinations. Upon full completion
you will be able to progress to full
AAT membership and obtain the
letters MAAT after your name.

BY DISTANCE LEARNING
How do I register with the AAT?
If you have not already done so
you must register with the AAT as a
student. The easiest way to do this is
on the AAT’s website, www.aat.org.uk.
You will be required to quote your
training providers Approved
Assessment Centre Code which for
Kaplan Distance Learning is BH10154.
Please note, registering as a student
with the AAT and entering for exams
is your responsibility and is entirely
separate from your purchase of a
Kaplan Distance Learning package.
How do I contact AAT?
For one unit at the final level, you will
need to write a 4,000 project based
on ‘Internal Controls and Accounting
Systems’. You will receive full support
and project guidance from Kaplan
tutors and assessors and it will
be Kaplan who will assess your
final project.
How long will it take for
me to complete?
Our courses allow you the flexibility
to study at a pace that suits you.
On average students will complete
level 2 in 6 months, level 3 in 12
months, and level 4 in 12-18 months.

How will I be assessed?
The vast majority of units are assessed
by computer based tests (CBT’s).
These are assessments that you take
on a computer and will range from
1hr to 2.5hr’s in length. You can take
these CBT’s at any time during the
year and can be sat at one of Kaplan’s
28 UK centres. You will receive your
results immediately.
For two of the units, these will be
assessed via an e-project. This will
not be under timed conditions and will
be assessed by Kaplan’s assessors.
