The EU RoHS regulation is specific to the sale of electronic equipment within the EU. This directive was
implemented in the EU on July 1, 2006. The RoHS Recast Directive Enforcement began January 2, 2013
and is more restrictive than the original RoHS 2002 Directive.
Symantec products sold in the EU on or after July 1, 2006 comply with the EU RoHS (including RoHS-6)

EU WEEE:
Products are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005,
and should be disposed of separately from normal domestic / commercial waste so that they can be
recycled
This product should not be disposed of with domestic / commercial waste. It should be deposited at an
appropriate facility to enable recovery and recycling.
o Much of the WEEE ends up in landfill, where the lead and other toxins it contains can cause soil and
water contamination. This can have a harmful effect on natural habitat, wildlife and also human health.
o Many electrical items that we throw away can be repaired or recycled. Recycling items helps to save
our natural finite resources and also reduces the environmental and health risks associated with sending
electrical goods to landfill.
Our product complies with European Directive 2002/96/EC, on waste electrical and electronic
equipment.
EU Packaging Directive Declaration
No CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons), HCFCs (hydrofluorocarbons) or other ozone depleting substances are
used in packaging material. Chromium, lead, mercury, or cadmium are not intentionally added to
packaging materials and are not present in a cumulative concentration greater than 100 ppm as
incidental impurities. No halogenated plastics or polymers are used for packaging material. Symantec
comply with the EU Directive 94/62/EEC.
EU Batteries Directive Declaration
Products are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005,
and should be disposed of separately from normal domestic/commercial waste so that they can be
recycled.
Batteries in this product should be collected separately and not disposed of with domestic / commercial
waste. Substances in batteries can have a potential negative impact on health and environment and
therefore should be disposed of in the correct manner.
