On Saturday, January 31, 2015 American
City Bank and Harton

and dedication to the
Chamber and our community is unsurpassed.
American City Bank, under the direction of President Troy Martin, offers a
vast array of banking and
lending opportunities to
meet the needs of individuals and business clients
alike. Harton Regional
Medical Center’s C.E.O.,
Russ Spray, oversees the
operations of the region’s
premier healthcare facility.
Both organizations
far exceed the term “community partner” with their
generous donations of
time and money in every
facet of our community.

Mike Norris elected 2015 President
Welcome to 2015. I am
sure most, if not all of you cannot believe another year has
just ended. I guess it’s the old
saying “time flies” and indeed
it does.
As incoming President I
proposed the shortest President’s Report ever, which
was “Let’s Finish What We’ve
A Division of
Started”. But that was quickly
Lakeway Publishers, Inc.
vetoed and I was told I would
Official Publication need to elaborate.
Why would I say “Let’s
of the Tullahoma
Finish
What We’ve Started?”
Area Chamber
Some
of you might ask,
of Commerce
“What have you been doing that you need to finish?”
I will use an analogy that the
actions of your Chamber and
that of a duck on a pond. The
duck looks calm and peaceful
floating around without much
effort. But in reality under the
water the Duck’s feet are moving as fast as they possibly
can to go where it has to go.
Like the duck, your Chamber
has been working extremely
hard to enhance the economic advancement of our members, not all of which can be

seen from the surface.
The mission statement of
your Chamber is as follows:
“The Tullahoma Chamber is to
identify and represent the interests and advancement of its
members and to promote a vision of economic growth while
showcasing the area as a desirable place to live, work, and
visit.” Your Chamber Board
has made a strategic change
in our focus that the Chamber
needs to take to accomplish
that mission. Historically the
Chamber has spent a lot of
time and energy promoting
economic growth by assisting
in attracting new businesses to
Tullahoma. With the creation
of the Tullahoma Area Economic Corporation, whose
sole purpose is to attract new
businesses, your Chamber can
now redirect more of its time
and energies on promoting
economic growth through the
advancement of our members.
Your Chamber will continue
to support the efforts to attract

2014 Chamber President
It’s 2015 and hard to
believe that a year could
pass so quickly, but it has.
I am humbled that I was
afforded the opportunity
to serve as your Tullahoma
Area Chamber of Commerce President.
As I reflect on the past
year I first and foremost
want to thank the Board of
Directors and the Ambassadors. It is through their
willingness to serve and
give of their time that we
can build on the successes
of those who came before
us as well as developing
new and innovative strategies that will make Tullahoma, Coffee County, and
Middle Tennessee an even
better place to live, work,
raise a family, and visit.
I take great pride in
our achievements as a
Chamber in 2014. It is
through volunteers such
as:
Lisa Claudio, who has
and is overseeing the development of our new and
expanded website, along
with overseeing the production of our magazine
“Focus on Tullahoma”.
Dolly McNabb, who
has helped to implement
and expand our social
media by adding Google
Plus, Twitter, YouTube,
along with Facebook.
Also she chaired our new
fundraising bowling event,
Babes Having a Ball.
Chelsey Dochety, our
retail Chair, who brought
Jamie McNabb
local business merchandise
displays to our coffees,
developed an open house
campaign and is in the
process of developing a
small local shopping map
for visitors.
Daryl Welch, a Past
Chamber President, overseeing the development of
Tullahoma’s Emerging Leaders Program.
Bill Yoder, organizing
seminars for our members
and the community. QuickBooks, Public Speaking,
Dale Carnegie.
Elizabeth
Bowling,
heading up a new program Women Impacting
the Community. A luncheon
will be held in March.
Jessica Fewell and
Linda
Welty,
chairing
our Tourism program and
bringing GeoCaching to
Tullahoma.
Laurie Raulston and the
31 Ambassadors, for taking care of our 37 ribbon
cuttings, 41 Pop in visits,
and being the welcoming
arm at our 12 coffees.
Billy Philpott and Lenore
Blackwell for serving many
years as Chairmen of the
Stan McNabb Automotive
Christmas Parade.
Hope Sartain and
James Fuller, serving as the
ambassadors for membership recruitment and retention.
Judy Norris, chairing
the Chamber Celebration,
along with Russ Spray,
Harton Regional Medical
Center and Troy Martin,
American City Bank as Title
Sponsors.
I could go on and on
with
acknowledgements
but please know that it
is through teamwork that
much can be accomplished. Diane, Ashton and
Jennifer pull it all together!
In other words The Tullahoma Area Chamber of
Commerce is an awesome
organization because of all
the volunteers and staff that
come together for the common good of all. Yes, Tullahoma is Tennessee’s Rising
Star and I am so glad to be
a part of it.
While much has been
accomplished in 2014,
there are many opportunities that lie ahead. I am
confident that our new
President, Mike Norris will
bring the leadership and
direction for a very successful 2015.
Thank you for allowing
me to serve as your 2014
Chamber President.

new businesses, but our goal
for 2015 will be to provide
tangible benefits to our members.
Some evidence of this
strategy change can be seen
in a few of the accomplishments in 2014.
The Chamber hosted four
business development seminars. One of those being a
Quickbooks Seminar, where
registration was full in three
days. Clearly showing it satisfied a need of our Chamber
Members.
A major website update
was initiated that will bring
a totally new face to the site
as well as allow for Chamber
control of all data. It will also
provide a platform for Chamber Members to advertise
their businesses on the site.
We have started to embrace the age of social media by utilizing both Facebook and Twitter. All Chamber mass emails are now
also posted on our Facebook
page.
Build it and they will come.
No I have not been seeing
the ghosts of dead baseball
players emerging from a cornfield like Kevin Costner in the
movie “The Field of Dreams,”
but I do believe that our goal
of increasing membership
can be accomplished by providing more tangible benefits
to our local businesses. Businesses can then see that the
benefit of Chamber membership far outweighs the cost of
the dues.
Those tangible benefits for
2015 are:
Unveil our new website,
and guarantee that all data
will be kept up-to-date.
Implement a software
package called Chamber
Master that will better allow
us to manage the relationship
with our members.
Host 5 business development seminars with at least
two of those being Member
Only events at no cost to our
members.
Finally we will develop
a plan for your Chamber facilities. It’s not breaking news
that the current Chamber facilities are out dated. We
will develop a short-term and
long-term plan to best satisfy
the needs of the Chamber
staff and our members.
Lastly, to ensure we meet
our 2015 goals, we will not
confuse efforts with results.
Unlike that duck on the pond,
2015 Chamber goals will be
measured on where we get
to, not on how fast our feet
are moving.
Celebration
Continued from Page 1
The event will be
held at the Tullahoma
Business Center located
at 414 Wilson Avenue
and offers the opportunity to network with
other area businesses,
while enjoying a relaxed atmosphere, fine
dining and an auction
that is sure to get you
excited! The evening
will commence with a
social hour from 5:30 -
6:30 p.m. Dinner and
program will follow at
6:30 p.m. where we
will honor Tullahoma’s
Citizen of the Year and
present other awards
recognizing some of
Tullahoma’s finest. Don’t
miss out on this great
evening.
Come join
us as we celebrate Tullahoma as “tennessee’s

bryant thanks members for their continued support
Diane Bryant
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of you
for choosing to invest in the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber could not
do the many things we do without your generous contributions
of time and money throughout
the year. I would also like to
thank you in advance for your
continued support as we move
into 2015.
The Chamber unites hundreds of businesses, professional firms, community organizations, and individuals under
a common focus of business
promotion and betterment. The
Chamber functions only because of the involvement of our
many members. The chamber’s
strength lies in the number and
diversity of its membership. Our
members are the Chamber!
I am excited about 2015
and am looking forward to
providing as much support
as possible to our members
throughout the year. On behalf
of the TACC Staff, we are reminded every day that we are
a membership driven organization and our goal is to link our
members to each other and to
services that enable our members to do more business and
to do business better. Please
continue your commitment to
patronize each other’s business
in the year ahead and plan to
participate in as many Chamber activities as you can. From
the Chamber side, we will continue our efforts to work hard
and smart to keep Tullahoma
moving forward as “tennessee’s
rising star.”
