Course Overview: Medical/Surgical Nursing: Reproductive deals with disorders of the male and
female systems. Integrated information includes oncology nursing and use of community resources to
emphasize total client care.
Course Objectives:
1. Discuss disorders of the reproductive system including medical and nursing management.
2. Identify health promotion and disease prevention behaviors.
3. Plan nursing care for the client with a reproductive disorder including the use of community
resources.
Clinical Component:
The learner will utilize knowledge garnered in the classroom to provide health care in the acute care
setting for the client with reproductive system disorders. The learner will integrate this knowledge to
care for clients in any clinical setting with related disorder.
