SPECIAL BUSINESS MEETING
MINUTES
MONDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2010
7:00 P.M.

CALL TO ORDER
Advanced written notice of this meeting of the Pennsauken Township Board of Education was sent to the Courier
Post and Philadelphia Inquirer. Notice appeared in the legal notice section of the Courier Post stating the time,
date, location and that formal action would be taken at that time. Notice was also posted with the Township Clerk.
Mr. Brown as President, declared this to be a legal meeting of the Board of Education.
ROLL CALL
Those in attendance and answering roll call were Mr. Kofoet, Mr. McDevitt, Mr. Nguyen, Mr. Stargell, Mr. O’Brien,
Mr. Brown. Mr. Silver and Mrs. Andrews-Williams were absent. Also in attendance were Dr. Chapman
Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Oliver Director of Elementary Education.

Results of elementary school testing and efforts to achieve AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress)

6. Carson School – Tameka Matthews, Principal
7. Integrating the Special Area Curriculum – Christina Fessler, Art Teacher
8. Use of Technology in the Content Areas – Melissa Foster, Gr. One, Spec. Educ. Teacher
9. Burling/Delair Schools – Martin Slater, Principal
10. Language Arts Literacy – Diane Joyce, Language Arts Supervisor
11. Science – Michael Ostroff, Science Supervisor
12. Mathematics – Eileen Egan, Mathematics Supervisor
PUBLIC COMMENT
The Board welcomes comments from citizens. It does, however, respectfully suggest that citizens attempt to
resolve concerns by speaking directly to school administrators before bringing it to the Board. Individuals with a
relevant interest in the functions or duties of the Board are invited to speak a maximum of five (5) minutes on any
one issue. You are required to give your name and address before speaking.

Mr. McDevitt left the meeting at 11:12.
Mr. Stargell left the meeting before adjournment.
Due to lack of quorum, the meeting adjourned because less than 5 members were remaining. Time was 11:40pm.
