Guardians of Liberty and Justice Youth Award
The Guardians of Liberty and Justice Youth Award acknowledges and publicizes the deeds of unsung High
school age heroes across the state that work to protect and promote the Bill of Rights. These youth alone
or with others took action against an injustice or organized forums, clubs, and other activities to raise
awareness about personal freedoms.
Nominated student action(s) must have taken place in Hawai‘i after December 31, 2003 and before April 25, 2005.
Anyone can make a nomination. Submit by deadline. All questions on the application must be answered. Please print
or type. Illegible entries cannot be considered. Air and ground transportation provided for neighbor island winners. For
more on past honorees, go to the local ACLU webpage at www.acluhawai`i.org.
Nomination Deadline: April 25, 2005 Winner chosen on May 14, 2005
Awards ceremony on June 4 at State Supreme Court
Award: $1,000 first place, $500 two finalists
