President’s Message continued
Property Owners of
Sea Trail website
www.mapost.org
As always, we will focus our efforts
on a positive working relationship
with Sea Trail Resort management.
We will continue encouraging them
to increase avenues of
communication between
homeowners and Sea Trail decision
makers. The recent use of an exit
survey at Brassie's opening night
was a good means of seeking
homeowner input. In the past, the
Food Committee and Golf
Committee, comprised of residents
and a representative of Sea Trail,
provided forums for continual
communication. We are
encouraging the re-establishment
of these committees. Our goal has
always been, and will continue to
be, to work as a team with Sea
Trail management to enhance the
amenities at Sea Trail for both
homeowners and visitors.
As you may know, Mr. Pan visited
Sea Trail in November. He
graciously took time from his busy
schedule and invited the Board to
share dinner with him and the Sea
Trail management team at the
Jones/Byrd Clubhouse. Although
social in nature, with no business
being conducted, it was a positive
experience. He impresses as a
very thoughtful person who cares
about both his employees and the
needs of our homeowners. More
than once he used the word
"family" to describe our
relationship. One has the feeling
that he is committed to the
positive development of Sea Trail.
Throughout 2015, you can expect
updates each month regarding the
progress on reaching our goals.
As you set your goals for the new
year, please consider volunteering
with your Master Association and
participating as fully as you can in
the wonderful community of Sea
Trail. We wish everyone a happy
and healthy new year!
Sea Trail Prayer Support Circle
It is 2015! Here is looking ahead
to a new year full of hope,
challenges, and resolutions. All
of the ladies of the Prayer
Support Circle wish each of you a
very Happy New Year.
Do you have a prayer request???
To the right are the names and
areas of some of the members.
Feel free to call, as we all believe
in the power of prayer and
pledge confidentiality.

From the Rules Committee
Recently, several issues regarding
reservation of common facilities for
activities which are in violation of the
Rules have been encountered.
Rule III, F, 5, n prohibits commercial
solicitation and/or sales in all of the
common facilities. Rule III, F, 10
specifically prohibits use of the Pink
Palace, MAC, Creek Side Building
Multipurpose Room, Sea Horse
Room, and Sunset Room for the
conduct of business or to generate
income. The purpose of this
prohibition is that property owners
who support these facilities through
their Annual Property Owners STMA
dues should not unwillingly or
unknowingly be expected to
contribute to economic gain for
individuals or groups. Rule III, F,
10, d provides examples of activities
for which the facilities may not be
reserved as follows:
• Political Meetings/Fundraisers,
Activist Group
Meetings/Activities
• Business meetings of any kind
that involve the solicitation of
business
• Meetings of legally registered
organizations not established
under STMA, whether for profit
or not for profit, unless such
meetings receive prior approval
from the STMA Board of
Directors
• Seminars or meetings for the
sole purpose of generating
commercial opportunity for the
participants in the
seminar/meeting
Events sponsored or conducted
by STMA Clubs and
organizations, including guest
speakers, are permitted,
provided the purpose of the
event is not to generate an
economic advantage for the
speaker (Rule III, F, 10, b).
Promotion of the event through
use of a guest speaker’s web
site would evidence a purpose
to generate economic
advantage for the speaker. A
group of property owners
planning to use a facility for a
specific activity exclusively for
property owners, may bring in
an instructor who has a
business established outside of
STR, and the instructor may be
entitled to receive
compensation from the
individual property owners
participating in that activity. In
addition, Rule III, F, 10 and
Rule III, F, 10, j require that
the property owner making the
reservation must be in
attendance at the
event/function. If you are
involved in planning an event at
a common facility which could
involve commercial activity or
charges of any nature and have
any question, please contact
the Rules Committee prior to
scheduling it with the Calendar
Coordinator.

From Sea Trail Resort
Happy New Year to all! It is striking
how a simple change in calendar can
have a rejuvenating affect on us. It
seems to bring a renewed sense of
excitement as we head into another
year at Sea Trail with much to look
forward to.
On behalf of the entire staff, a huge
thank you goes out to those of you
that contributed to the staff holiday
fund! Because of your generosity,
we were able to provide all part-time
and full-time employees with an
envelope of Christmas cheer from
the homeowners! We informed the
staff at the Sea Trail Resort
Christmas party that was held on
December 17th. Sea Trail Resort
provided a great luncheon and had
numerous door prizes for the staff in
addition to the special envelope from
the homeowners. It was very much
appreciated!
December is traditionally a slower
month around the property with
many people traveling to visit loved
ones wherever they may be. It gave
us a good opportunity to have a ‘soft
opening’ of Brassies at the Maples
Clubhouse on December 11th. It
was a great success, with many
familiar faces returning to enjoy the
atmosphere, great food and drink
under the direction of Raymond
Reyes and Chef Sal Rubio. It is our
desire to work in a purposeful and
diligent manner to expand our Food
and Beverage offerings at both
Brassies and Magnolias. We will
focus on new menus, as well as new
and returning popular themes for
everyone to enjoy.
Be sure to keep an eye out on our
website and watch for email blasts
regarding Brassies and Magnolias
schedule of events for January.
There will be several different
offerings during the month that
will surely spark your interest.
The December golf shop
merchandise sale went very well.
Do not let the end of the holiday
shopping season prevent you from
checking out new merchandise
items that will be arriving in the
golf shops on a regular basis!
We encourage you to stay up to
date with Sea Trail events by liking
us on Facebook! We will also
continue with regular email blasts
that will provide you with
information on golf outings,
specials and happenings around
property.
Lastly, as we move into 2015, we
feel having a point of contact for
you for any questions or issues you
may have will be of benefit to you.
You may not know exactly who to
go to with regard to a question or
problem, and we would like to
facilitate that process for you. We
would prefer general questions be
addressed via email to Dana
Connelly at dconnelly@seatrail.com.
Dana will have the ability to
respond to your email or forward it
to the appropriate party for
response to you.
Happy New Year once again, and
may it be filled with good health,
lots of happiness, and great times
at Sea Trail.

TGIF
By the time you read this, the rush
of Christmas and New Year’s will be
past, and life as we know it should
be pretty much back to normal.
Looking for a nice, relaxing way to
spend a Friday night? Join us and
hosts Day & Diane Kreuzberg at the
Pink Palace for TGIF on Friday,
January 16, at 6 pm for the first
get together of 2015. Just bring
your drinks and a snack to share.
And by the way, we still need hosts
& hostesses for most of the rest of
2015. Please consider signing up.
It’s pretty easy actually – just get
to the Pink Palace around 5:30 to
set up a few tables for the food.
And then greet everyone at the
door as they arrive, and introduce
any guests or newbies to the group
sometime during the evening.
That’s it. It’s a great way to meet
new people, and the TGIF
Coordinators -- Ellen Belford, Barb
Hauver, and Donna Piatek – will be
eternally grateful!!! We will be
circulating the list at the January
TGIF asking for volunteers. Please
consider volunteering. You’ll be
glad you did!

Who Cares…Do You??
Are you taking care of a parent or
elderly loved one? Do you feel
overwhelmed and/or confused? If
you can answer yes to those
questions, have I got a deal for
you. I’ve thought for many years
that there was a need for a support
group here in Sea Trail. There are
so many of us who are caring for a
parent or loved one and have no
one to talk to…no one to
understand…no one to turn to for
advice. I think it’s time to start that
group. I want this group to be
designed and created by US so we
can meet and support each other
during difficult times.
My vision is to join together once a
month in the evening, BYOB, in a
judge-free zone to share our
thoughts and feelings. I hope that
we can laugh and cry together and
provide the support that many of
us so desperately need and desire.
If you are interested in joining us,
please send an email to
candy_fowler@hotmail.com. Also,
feel free to share any ideas or
thoughts you may have about this
group and its future.

10 THE SEA TRAILER
Gratitude
Thanks from Betsy Slover – The kind folks and gentle people of Sea
Trail have been sending their prayers and support during my current
health issues. Those messages mean so much and I send my thanks
and wishes for blessed holiday season. Hope to see you in February.
Thanks from Carol and Larry Bates – When we moved to Sea Trail
over 14 years ago, we were so impressed by the friendliness of the
community. We are so lucky and blessed to have found such a great
place to live. Over the years our friends and neighbors have laughed
with us and cried with us. We thank you for being such a wonderful,
generous and amazingly thoughtful group. The flowers, Christmas
centerpiece from Secret Santa, visits, cards, calls, dog walks and of
course, those great delicious meals and desserts delivered to our door.
We also thank Pat Gambarelli and Candy Fowler for setting up the Meal
Train. It is very efficient and provides a great service when people like
me are recovering from health problems. I start physical therapy
January 2nd and I look forward to getting out and about more in
February. We wish everyone a Safe, Happy and Healthy 2015.
Thanks from the Mulford Family – To all our Sea Trail friends:
Thanks to you all for the kind notes of condolence, gifts of food, and
outpouring of emotion over the recent passing of Guy Mulford. Guy lived
a great life at Sea Trail and we will be forever grateful that he found a
community like this. Please join us on April 19 at the Chapel, and then
Pink Palace to celebrate his life. Sincerely, Guy, Betty Ann, and Lucy

14 THE SEA TRAILER
An Ode to Golf
by Allan Berman
In my hand I hold a ball.
White And Dimpled, Rather Small.
Oh, How Bland It Does Appear.
This Harmless Looking Little Sphere.
By Its Size I Could Not Guess,
The Awesome Strength It Does Possess.
But Since I Fell Beneath Its Spell,
I've Wandered Through The Fires Of Hell.
My Life Has Not Been Quite The Same,
Since I Chose To Play This Stupid Game.
It Rules My Mind For Hours On End,
A Fortune (5 Euros) It Has Made Me Spend.
It Has Made Me Yell, Curse And Cry,
I Hate Myself And Want To Die.
It Promises A Thing Called Par,
If I Can Hit It Straight And Far.
To Master Such A Tiny Ball,
Should Not Be Very Hard At All.
But My Desires The Ball Refuses,
And Does Exactly As It Chooses.
It Hooks And Slices, Dribbles And Dies,
And Even Disappears Before My Eyes.
Often It Will Have A Whim,
To Hit A Tree Or Take A Swim.
With Miles Of Grass On Which To Land,
It Finds A Tiny Patch Of Sand.
Then Has Me Offering Up My Soul,
If Only It Would Find The Hole.
It's Made Me Whimper Like A Pup,
And Swear That I Will Give It Up.
And Take To Drink To Ease My Sorrow,
But The Ball Knows ... I'll Be Back Tomorrow.
