✪ Captain’s Toolkit ✪ Congratulations for taking on the fun and important role of team captain! Here are a few guidelines that will help you navigate our system to ensure you and your team has all the information needed for a successful season. What does a captain/team manager do? 1. 2. 3. 4. Oversee the roster and collect team tee shirts the first night of the season Remind teammates of game times, bye-‐weeks, and last minute schedule changes Speak with umpires/referees on or off the field, when needed Communicate important messages to/from league coordinators such as schedule requests, potential issues, general feedback, status of the team’s return next season 5. Always demonstrate good sportsmanship and uphold the sport & social culture DynamicSSC is all about Divisions Players and teams may select their skill level and division when registering for each sports league. Dynamic Sport & Social Club will create divisions based on those selections, IF enough players/teams are available. If there are not enough teams registered for a particular division, then it will become an “open” league in which all teams play against one another. When possible, we will break up the league into an upper and lower division, based on feedback from the captain and previous season’s standings. Brand new teams will be placed in the lowest division their first season. Teams that repeatedly place in the top 1-‐2 spot in the lower division will be moved up and vice-‐ versa for teams that place in the bottom 1-‐2 spots in the upper division, based on the league coordinator’s discretion. Free agents Non-‐prepaid teams will have free agents placed on the team IF the maximum roster size is not reached on or before the registration deadline. Gender and roster size requirements vary by sport. Uniforms Dynamic Sport & Social Club will provide teams with matching cotton tees for $5 or dry-‐fit tees for $10. www.dynamicssc.com | info@dynamicssc.com | 408-‐659-‐4FUN Game Times Game times will range throughout the season. Dynamic Sport & Social Club does its best to provide an even distribution of start times. Captains are welcome to submit schedule requests when registering (the schedule will be published ~1 week before the season begins). Schedules/Scores/Standings As Captain, your team may look to you for the inside scoop. We post the schedule, scores and stats that tell you how your team is doing. Let your players know when you’re in 1st place or last it’ll provide great motivation! Scores will be posted within 3 days following your game. Sportsmanship Although our sports are competitive they’re also meant to be fun! This is a sport AND social club and as captain, we ask that you lead by example. Keep things classy on and off the field/court. Please – no cheating or unnecessary roughness. While there is plenty of competition, we also look to you, as Captain, to ensure all team members get equal playing time as well. We want this to be a fun environment that Dynamaniacs can’t wait to come back to. Participation Only registered players may play from week to week. If a non-‐DynamicSSC player would like to sub for one game, they must check in at the front office (Twin Creeks Sports Complex) for a substitute bracelet. If teams are short on players, they may also ask teams, playing before your scheduled game, if they’d like to pick up another game. Socialize! Remember, this is a sport AND social club for adults. Some of the most fun and energetic teams are those who bond together as well as with other teams on and off the field. This can be done via themed outfits, postgame drinks, and all around DynamicSSC shenanigans! You may not be able to stay afterwards every night, but we ask that you encourage your team to participate in the fun activities we have to offer. Trust us it helps build camaraderie, win or lose. www.dynamicssc.com | info@dynamicssc.com | 408-‐659-‐4FUN Staying in touch with your team As captain, you have access to everyone’s email addresses and phone numbers, if provided.
