Project Description:
To improve the mental health of children 2 – 5 years of age in Los Angeles County and decrease their risk of maltreatment, UC Davis PCIT Training
Center (UCD PCIT) will work collaboratively with Los Angeles County Dept. of Mental Health (LACDMH) to implement Parent-Child Interaction
Therapy (PCIT) in Los Angeles County. UCD PCIT will take responsibility for planning and executing training activities related to this project. UCD
PCIT will work collaboratively to develop system supports to insure sustainability of PCIT in LA County and to plan and conduct project evaluations.

Participate in telephone and video-conferences, face-to-face meetings, and workshops with
collaborative partners to help coordinate activities essential to the successful implementation
of PCIT in LA County.
Support all trained PCIT therapists (Year 1 & Year 2) from 34 agencies with an existing PCIT
program in Advanced PCIT concepts, and support their in-agency training efforts by coaching
and consultation as needed.
