It is often heard that Americans are not as patriotic today as in the past. Is it true? Or, has the definition of "being patriot" changed over time? What does it mean to be patriotic?
Wikipedia, the on line dictionary, describes patriotism as "devotion to ones country." during a time of year when a nation celebrates significant national holidays relating to liberty, many residents begin
thinking about patriotism. This year finds the nation reflecting on the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.
Natural disasters and rebellion are surfacing in much of the world. What do all these events mean as the nation stops to ponder patriotism and how it should translate into action?
