Proposed program pending final approval. NEW Online Graduate Certificate: Elementary School Mathematics Add-on License for experienced, licensed elementary and middle grades mathematics educators Program Information The North Carolina 18-hour Add-on License in Elementary School Mathematics is an optional track within the program of study for UNC Charlotte's Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Elementary Education. It is intended to be offered as an online graduate certificate program for those students who are interested in the Add-on License Program, but not the M.Ed. degree. For students pursuing the on-campus M.Ed. in Elementary Education degree, fifteen (15) of the eighteen (18) graduate level credit hours can be included or counted towards the degree. This web-based program meets the requirements for the North Carolina Elementary School Mathematics Add-on License. The six courses (18-credit hours) will be delivered 100% online utilizing both asynchronous and synchronous delivery methods - with some virtual sessions requiring "real time" class meetings. For the over-arching program requirements, visit Education.uncc.edu/reel. The online program is tentatively scheduled to begin in fall 2011 and end spring 2013. Grades of B or better must be earned in all courses in order to complete the program. At least 3 years of classroom teaching experience is required by the completion of the program. Admission Requirements Apply now to begin fall 2011!
