TAKE THE PLUNGE WHAT IS THE POUND PLUNGE? It’s a team-centered weight loss program consisting of three components: • • • Individual & Group Fitness Training Food Journaling Team Competitions The Pound Plunge has proven to help individuals meet their weight loss goals, experience new physical activities, and make new friends! FEE Members: $75 Financial Assistance is available! HOW THE POUND PLUNGE WORKS EARNING POINTS Each team will earn points based on the amount of time spent in physical activity each day. 30 minutes of activity = 1 point (Maximum of 3 points can be earned/day) You can earn more points by participating in team competitions each Saturday. The better your team performs, the more points you earn!* *Each team should send at least one representative to compete in these competitions, and every teammate should compete at least once over the session. TRAINING Each team will be assigned a coach, who you will work out with as a group one hour/week. How cool is that? You get individual and *Prior to the beginning of the challenge, you will receive a phone call from the Pound Plunge coordinator letting you know who your coach is. Other important details will be determined at the initial team meeting at the beginning of the challenge. NUTRITION Pound Plunge participants will receive nutrition information at each weekly weighin. This will include helpful diet tips and a weekly food journal you can use as planning tool. WEEKLY WEIGH-IN Weekly weigh-ins take place at the beginning of every group session. Your coach will administer and report your weigh-in. You must weigh yourself every week at the Y to earn and maintain your points. Failure to do so may result in losing points. BENEFITS OF TEAMWORK Being part of a team provides a built-in support system, instills a sense of accountability to yourself and teammates.
