Application Procedure
Completed application packets are due via email to Cooperative
Educational Services by Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. Applications will
be reviewed on a rolling basis and some interviews may be conducted in
advance of the application deadline. Application packets MUST be
submitted as ONE electronic PDF file and emailed to
ExecutiveSearches@ces.k12.ct.us.
Completed application packets are comprised of the following:
• Cover letter outlining qualifications and interest in the Staples High School principalship
• Copy of updated, complete resume which includes a chronology of work history and educational
background and a preferred email address and phone contact
• Copy of Connecticut 092 certification or evidence of eligibility
• Copies of transcripts for all degrees held from all granting colleges/universities
Finalist candidates will be required to supply official transcripts.
• Three signed letters of reference from current or former employers and professional contacts
Please limit reference letters to three letters written within the past two years.

Compensation
The Westport Public Schools Board of Education expects to offer the successful candidate an
employment contract based on a compensation package commensurate with the new principal’s
qualifications, credentials, and experience, consistent with the Westport Public Schools Intermediate
Administrators Agreement.

Announcement of Vacancy
The Westport Board of Education seeks an outstanding educational leader for
the position of Principal of Staples High School and invites qualified, interested
candidates to apply. Cooperative Educational Services (C.E.S.) Executive Searches
will facilitate the search on behalf of the Board of Education. The Board expects the
new principal to assume responsibilty of the office during the 2016-17 school year.
Town of Westport
Westport is a truly wonderful community that is frequently listed as one of the
best places to live in Connecticut as well as the country. The town strives to retain
its New England charm while meeting the demands of a 21st century municipality.
Westport has grown into an affluent suburb celebrated for its rich contributions to
the arts and culture of the Connecticut shoreline, greater New England, and the

Qualified candidates, at minimum, are expected to meet the following

• Skilled in staff recruitment, development, supervision, and evaluation

• Record of visibility and accessibility to students, staff, and parents
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

The school features state-of-the-art facilities and outstanding faculty and staff
members. A comprehensive administrative structure is in place to support students
and teachers, as well as cutting-edge curricular and professional development programs and exceptional special education programs. Students are offered a global
educational experience: Staples offers international exchange programs and several
world languages, including Spanish, French, Italian, German, Latin, and Mandarin.
