Greetings Cluster I Sorors!
The sorors of Upsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter invite you to Turf Valley Resort and
Conference Center in Ellicott City, Maryland for the 2015 Cluster I Leadership
Conference. Cluster I has the distinct honor of hosting the conference under the
leadership of our Regional Director, Soror Meredith L. Henderson. The conference will
embrace the theme, “Packed for Learning, Polished for Leading, and Prepared to Soar”.
This will be a full day conference dedicated to expanding our leadership skills with
opportunities to utilize our skills, expand our knowledge, and practice strategies to
further ensure that our cluster, region, and sisterhood remain Packed, Polished, and
Prepared. Attire is business casual (no jeans or track suits). In celebration of Breast
Cancer Awareness Month, we request that you wear a pink accessory. More
information will follow regarding the Cluster Community Service Project.
Online registration is the only method of conference registration and is available on the
North Atlantic Region’s website, http://www.akanorthatlantic.org until October 3, 2015.
There will be no mail in or on-site registration. It is suggested that chapters set up a team
to assist sorors who may need assistance with online registration.

2015 to be directed to the online registration system. NOTE: You must
have an e-mail account to register. We encourage all chapters to
assist sorors who are unfamiliar with the internet to ease the
experience of online registration.
Refunds
Refund requests must be made in writing to the conference
chairman, Leslie Lyles Smith at LeslieLyles@verizon.net by October 3,
2015. Refunds will be processed at the conclusion of the conference.
There will be a processing fee of $30 deducted from the refund.

Please bring a badge holder for your name tag and your official
sorority documents.
HOTEL RESERVATION INFORMATION
Sorors who wish to have lodging at Turf Valley in Ellicott City, Maryland, on Friday,
October 16, 2015, may call the hotel at 410-465-1500 or toll free at 1-888-833-8873 or
make reservations online at www.turfvalley.com. Use the group code 27Y9CG (Alpha
Kappa Alpha North Atlantic Region). Reservations will be accepted until September 21,
2015. The group rate is $138 plus taxes.
As conference registration begins promptly at 7:30 AM on October 17th, we encourage
an overnight stay for sorors who will travel a distance. In order to accommodate sorors
who wish to have lodging for the conference, we request that you register promptly.
Timeliness is essential to our planning and if needed, to open additional hotel rooms.
Please be reminded, the conference is scheduled to conclude by 4:30 PM. The
agenda is quite comprehensive and we wish to execute the planned activities in a
smooth, accommodating manner. Therefore, your timeliness is essential.

From Baltimore:
Take I-695 to exit 16 (I-70 West toward Frederick).
Follow I-70 to exit 83 (Marriottsville Road.).
At the stop sign, turn left onto Marriottsville Road.
At the second traffic light, turn left onto Route 40.
Go 7/10 mile and turn left onto Turf Valley Road.
Turf Valley’s entrance will be on your left.
From Frederick:
Take I-70 East towards Baltimore.
Take Exit 82 - Ellicott City / 40 East.
Go through one stop light.
Continue approximately 7/10 of a mile and turn left onto Turf Valley Road.
Turf Valley’s entrance will be on your left.
From DC and Points South:
Take the Capital Beltway to 295N.
Take MD-100W toward Ellicott City.
Continue onto Rt 29 N – Columbia Pike N.
Take Exit 24B onto US-40W
Continue approximately 4.2 miles and turn right onto Turf Valley Road.
Turf Valley’s entrance will be on your left.
